Inna's pov

It took me around two hours to finally accept that I couldn't sleep. My mind was awake, my fingers as restless as the rest of my, while my stare wandered around the sky outside of the open window.

The cool air was blowing in slowly, refreshing the walls every once in a while, while the moonlight lit up the white color they bore.

My blinks were heavy, exhausted even, but my eyes never stayed closed for long. it almost felt as if my eyes were searching for something.

Searching for color.

But everything was exactly as grey as it had ever been, perhaps even darker than before. I thought back to if I was a normal child, back to the younger my, how easy it had all been. Happiness wasn't a requirement; excitement was all it took to satisfy me as a child.

It was just a question, What if?

What if I had a family too?

It was always what ifs.

Maybe as long as something new happened every day, and as long as my parents were there when I got home so I could tell them about it, everything was as good as I could wish.

But no- this was just a lost hypothesis.

An abnormal one, like my life.

Clutching the paper, I had been reading all night, I found myself unable to tear my eyes away from the percentage written on the page. It read 99.99% identical DNA.

The realization hit me like a wave crashing upon the shore - the same DNA ran through Ace's veins as it did through mine.

We were born to be twins, destined to share a bond, yet cruelly kept apart.

"How can you be sure that you're my sister?" My voice trembled with uncertainty as I sought answers.

"How can you be sure that you don't have a family, Red? Remember, we were once just mere sperm cells," I shot my an incredulous glance, while Ace smirked like a mischievous puppeteer enjoying the torment I was causing. "Take it."

A paper was handed to me - a DNA test. "I took a strand of your hair that night when you were in the cell, and it matched identically. But honestly, we don't need this DNA test - our faces alone can answer your doubts, Red."

A heavy silence settled between them, pregnant with unspoken emotions and unanswered questions.

"Who are you?" Red's voice quivered with a mix of curiosity and apprehension.

"Ace."

"Ace who?"

"The mafia heir of The outfit."

"So, you're the heir of the bratva. the next Pakhan. I thought it was Kasemero," I tried to make sense of the situation, my mind racing to grasp the unfolding reality. "Kasemero was just a facade, a cover to hide me while I worked for the mafia, as their lethal weapon."

"So, I am-" I began, but my words were swiftly interrupted by Ace. "You are an heir too. You share the same DNA as me."

"But how?"

My mind swirled with the enormity of the possibility that I could indeed be Ace's long-lost sister. I pondered silently, my thoughts becoming a tempest within. Ace's lips curved into a faint smile, acknowledging the weight of I's words. "We will find out soon enough."

"And what about the Don?" my voice quivered, curious to uncover more of their shared history.

"He is your family," Ace's expression contorted with a mix of pain and resentment, a flicker that did not escape Red's notice. "Do you hate him?"
