HANNAH
Carmen led them outside, past the string lights and laughter, around a darkened corner of the barn where shadows pooled and no one else lingered. The only sounds were the frogs croaking down by the pond and the heavy thud of the bass spilling out from inside.
The next song blasted through the walls, loud, fast and full of heat. And maybe that's what did it.
Hannah stopped.
Her hand tugged back sharply, and Carmen, still moving, stumbled into her with a surprised "umph." Their bodies collided with a force that stole the air between them.
Carmen blinked, brows raised in surprise. But her eyes didn't stray from Hannah's. They darted at once to Hannah's lips.
And that's all it took.
Hannah met the glance, then fixed her gaze on Carmen's mouth. The one she's been thinking about for what felt like hours. That full bottom lip she wanted to bite, to taste. She barely remembered breathing, only that hers had gone ragged, and when she glanced down at Carmen's chest, rising and falling, she knew she wasn't alone in that.
Carmen's hand slid to the back of Hannah's neck and pulled her forward.
Their mouths met in a kiss that didn't ask for permission. It was eager, breathless. A clashing of lips and teeth, tongues and raw need. Carmen licked across Hannah's bottom lip, and the soft gasp it earned was all the invitation she needed.
The kiss deepened instantly, like a dam breaking.
Hannah groaned as she finally tugged Carmen's lip between her teeth. The sound Carmen let out in response was nothing short of feral. It sent a jolt of need straight to her core. Her fingers gripped tighter at Carmen's hip, the other hand cradling the side of her neck, thumb brushing her jaw as goosebumps erupted beneath her fingertips.
Carme's nails tangled into her hair scraped against her scalp, pulling a sound from Hannah. Half sigh, half cry; a sound she hadn't known she could make. The way Carmen responded, like it sparked something even wilder in her, only stoked the flames more.
Teeth met lips. Tongues tangled. It was messy and electric and impossible to get close enough.
Hannah started walking, guiding Carmen backwards, refusing to let their bodies break contact. They stumbled behind a patch of bushes, crashing softly into the barn wall. The music's bass thudded through the wood and into their bones.
They broke apart for air, chests heaving, faces flushed.
The way Carmen looked at her then, eyes dark, lips kiss-swollen and breathless... it could've undone her right there.
If Carmen had been a siren here to drag her to the bottom of the sea, Hannah would've followed without a second thought.
Carmen reached up and cupped her face, and Hannah leaned into the warmth, eyes fluttering shut as a thumb traced her lip again. When she opened them, Carmen was watching her with parted lips, gazed fixed and hungry.
Without thinking, Hannah took Carmen's thumb into her mouth.
Carmen's breath hitched, her eyes wide. Her tongue skimmed across her own bottom lip as she watched Hannah sucking her finger. Then, she smirked.
That was it.
Hannah surged forward and kissed her again, hard. She bit that lower lip, just to feel it again, to memorize the softness. Carmen moaned, and Hannah's hand slid down her side, past the curve of her hip, to the back of her thigh. She lifted it, dress hiking up with it, her hand kneading from thigh to ass, dizzy with how warm and willing Carmen felt under her hands.
