I always liked stories where the hero doesn't know that they're destined for greatness. Heroes who go about their lives, assuming that nothing exciting will ever happen to them.
Such were the heroes of this story - In the beginning, were a group of friends who spent their days in a treehouse, all the while looking up to the ones who preceded them.
One day, however, their lives took a surprising turn when they crossed paths with another band of friends - Famous heroes from another world who had somehow found their way to this one...
It was also on that day when disaster struck. An evil monstrosity rose up and threatened to destroy the entire world, prompting the friends to band together so they could find a way to destroy it.
This threat also led those same friends to discover that heroes can from even the most humble of beginnings...
They traveled the world, overcoming many obstacles so they could face the monster.
And while the journey did result in some sacrifices having to be made, these friends were able to find the strength they needed to strike down the monster and save the world.
For their bravery, they became the greatest heroes the world had ever known.
And their legend continued to grow as they traveled to many other worlds and faced all the dangers that they had to offer.
And that's how five friends, plus the bravest pig in the world and a group of strangers from another world, took their place in history as some of the greatest heroes who ever lived.
However, when one story ends, a new one begins. And this story begins right as Jesse, Olivia, and Axel are listening to their friend Lukas narrate the story of their past adventure.
However, while Jesse and Olivia are listening, Axel appears to have fallen asleep, causing Olivia to elbow the griefer so he wakes up.
Axel: Ow! Whowahuh? What part are we at? Is it one where I do something awesome?
To this, Olivia, who's now clad in a red overcoat and a new hairstyle, shakes her head in amusement as she turns to Lukas and says,
Olivia: Good work on the story, Lukas. However... it's not entirely accurate to what happened...
Lukas: Yeah... I mean, well... I kinda did exaggerate here and there, but it was for the drama.
Axel: Well, it did make us sound cool... So it's not necessarily a bad thing.
Olivia: Yeah, but it might make people think that we did things we didn't actually do. And you remember how that turned out for the Old Order, don't you?
Axel: Oh, yeah... (to Jesse) Hey, Jesse, what did you think about the story?
In response, Jesse thinks for a second before saying,
Jesse: If there's one thing that our adventures taught us, it's that it's better to be truthful. Let history speak for itself.
Lukas: Yeah... I guess I could tone down the exaggerations...
Axel: Yeah... Like that part with the magic chicken... That sounds totally implausible...
Lukas: Uh... That actually happened...
Axel: Oh, right...
Lukas: Still, some things can be hard to believe if you weren't there to see it...
Olivia: Yeah, that's true.
Lukas: (sighs) I was hoping to be able to have this ready to read at Founding Day, but... Maybe next year.
