Weeks Later...

Aaliyah

"Thank you for finally coming over. We truly enjoyed y'all." Evelyn expressed for the umteenth time.

"Stop saying that, Meema." Adelynn rolled her eyes, making my mouth drop but I quickly pinched my lips together.

"Excuse you, little girl." Evelyn laughed.

I finally let mine out. "Adelynn, do not say that."

"Whyyyy? Her kept saying that."

"Mind your grandmother." I slightly rolled my eyes at her silly response.

"Aaliyah, I seriously do hope you know this means you're officially family. Y'all are ours and we'll forever love and protect you. That's was my stance since I met you, it's them that stand with you now. Your entire family. So if you ever do need something, Aubree isn't the only person you can call. We actually want you to call us, we handle our business amongst us, less men is less drama." She giggled at the last past as she tickled Adelynn's cheek, making her smile.

"Are you going to Harlem and Valorie's anniversary party?" I questioned, completely changing the subject.

"This will be me and Kev's first public appearance." She fanned herself, making us laugh.

"It's about time! That man been tryna show you something since he met you." I smiled.

Kev fell in love with Evelyn when he first saw her, of course she wouldn't give him a spare moment to even get her name but he stayed persistent and look at them now.

He knew what he wanted and he got it, no matter how difficult of a woman she proves to be.

"Do you wanna sit in your room?" Evelyn asked Addie.

"Yeah, follow me." She hopped down.

We followed her into her room, talking in the hallway.

"I'm going to an auction this week, there's a huge farm land going up for sale. I want to buy it, keep the farm interior and exterior on the home, just update it.. I want to get in some farm animals but I feel like I should have a garden and I just honestly don't want to deal with it." I admitted to her.

"Don't do anything more than what you feel called to do... I almost said get a gardener but I slept with mine, I get the feeling you'll die if you sleep with yours." She shrugged.

"Okay and you try sleeping with someone else right now ya damn self." I looked her up and down.

"That man... scares even me." She laughed as she shook her head.

"Don't feel bad, I'm scared of that black ass man too!" We laughed.

"But that Aubree? Oh he'll even kill the damn Guinea pig."

She fell out laughing and I did too because she's right and just the thought is enough to piss Aubree off... It use to be anyway. I honestly couldn't say if he sees now or not.

"How are you and Aubree doing?" She questioned.

"We don't talk." I cut my eyes at her.

"Yes y'all do." She looked at me like I was crazy.

She's a meddling mother for sure.

"How do you know that?" I sighed.

She smiled. "He stays here some nights, usually when he keeps Adelynn... And, he sneaks out to see you."

"It's only when I'm hungry and he didn't want me to leave out, that was all.. He barely said an entire sentence to me." I felt like I was repeating the same stuff I told ma, but I guess she's mine now.
