He held my both hands and pulled me closer to his hard chest, my head was right on his heart which was beating so hard. I tried to calm my sudden reactions while listening to his heartbeats. It was the same, his heartbeat felt the same as it did few years back. I felt it beating for me, not like human hearts, this was different.

I guess what they say is true that "a human heart could never love like a merman, cause a merman's heart is only destined to love once and he's blessed with the capacity of a love that is eternal." 

No matter how many humans I met, I never felt the love, neither I could give them the love. I was told in my childhood that a mermaid's soulmate is always in the human world and it was considered a sin loving a merman. 

Just like in human world they say a girl can only love a boy as a girl loving girl is also considered a sin. I never understood why a girl would love a girl or why a boy would love a boy and even why a mermaid would love a merman when she's clearly told that her fate is in human world, but now when I am here in my lover's arms, I am able to understand it completely. That love has nothing to do with the gender or even a species.

I know if I go back to my world and announce that I've found my lover in a mermaid, they won't accept me, they'd call me crazy or cursed, they'd doubt on my existence, they'd throw tantrums at me and even Taehyung's family won't accept him for liking a mermaid, but at this moment when I am looking into his eyes that holds the universe in them, the way he's looking at me with all that love and affection is giving me proof of the eternal love a merman holds. 

"Tae" I called him softly making him smile "Yes love" he said looking at me fondly "make love to me" I said. His breath hitched as his eyes widened "A-are you sure?" He mumbled. I could see the fear in his eyes and honestly I was scared to cause of course we were about to do a very unnatural thing, something that was considered a sin. It is probably the first time in the mermaids history that a mermaid is about to get intimate with a merman and not a human.

But nothing mattered at that time, neither our mermaid's community's opinion nor our family's disappointment. All we could think at that time was us, I wanted to claim him as mine and wanted him to claim me as his. That's what heaven looked like for me, being in my lover's embrace after waiting for decades was the only thing I could think about, and it was same for him too, his eyes were telling.

Couldn't being able to control myself I slowly tip-toed and connected my lips to his. His arm circled around my waist as he kissed me back with same passion. My hands made their way towards his shoulder as I caressed his cheek with my one hand. He pulled out from the kiss and looked at me, we looked into each other eyes with the eternal love. This was a different feeling for us, and new to everyone.

In the history of mermaids and mermen we've only given our eternal love to humans but never received the love as ours. That's why our love felt even more euphoric than any other, we were giving and receiving the same love from each other, with no fear of getting heart broken cause we knew, this love would never end.
