*Three years later*
*Narrator's POV*

Freshman year.
In California.
How fun.
But since spring break was rolling around, Y/n wouldn't complain too much, as she was finally going back to Hawkins for the week to spend some time with Nancy.
She'll most likely be talking about Jonathan the whole time, but just being with her is enough for Y/n.

Freshman year in California isn't really TOO bad.
Besides the amount of bullying, stoners, and just kids doing drugs or whatever, it's pretty fun.
Also, Dustin won't stop asking Y/n if they really do surf to school and eat avocados 24/7.

*Spring break*

"What time are you coming?" Nancy asked.
"Around 1 pm. Are you picking me up?" Y/n asked.
"Shit! I have a meeting at 1 pm! Sorry, Y/n. I can ask Steve and Robin to pick you up."
"Okay yeah sure. Leave me with those people, cool." Y/n said a bit sad her friend won't pick her up.
"I really am sorry! I just cant push this meeting back, again."
"It's fine. I guess I can hangout with Steve and Robin... again. Like during winter break."
"I promise I'll make it up to you!"
"Ok bye."
"Bye."

As Y/n packed up her stuff for her flight tomorrow morning, she hung up the phone.
Hanging out with Robin and Steve isn't bad, especially when they always bicker, it's just... she wishes it was Nancy picking her up.
But of course, Nancy puts her work before everything else.

*The next morning*

"Are you sure you have everything?"
"Yes mom, I'll be fine." Y/n said as she hugged her mom once more.
"Tell everyone I said "hi" for me please." Will said while he hugged his sister.
"Me too." Jonathan said as he hugged Y/n.
"Tell everyone that we miss them." El said as she hugged Y/n (step-sister).
"I will." She said as she departed from El.
"Tell Mike I miss him too. Sad how I won't be able to see him." Y/n said.
She and Mike weren't very close until everything these past few years happened.
She really did miss Mike.

"We will." El said with a smile.
"Try not to get into trouble!" Joyce said as Y/n grabbed her suitcase.

"Hey what about me?" Argyle shouted.
Y/n gave him a short hug.
"Okay I'll miss you too, Argyle." Y/n said with a  chuckle.

As Y/n was about to get into the plane, her family waved bye to her.

*At Hawkins*

"Hey Y/n! Over here! It's us! Steve and Robin!" Robin yelled as Y/n came down the escalators.
"Y/n! Do you hear us? It's me, Steve! With Robin!" Steve yelled raising one of his arms waving.
They knew exactly what they were doing.
"Yeah, I hear and see you, thank you." Y/n said as she came walking to them.
"Hey." Steve said as he hugged her.
"Hi." Robin said hugging Y/n.
"Missed you too." Y/n said trying to get out of the hug.

*In Steve's Car*

"So what exactly do you do for fun in California?" Robin asked.
"Uhh... well I skateboard, practice using my, uh well you know, and hangout with El and sometimes Will." She answered.
"Why "sometimes Will?" Steve asked.
"Well, he's been very distant recently. He's painting this picture and won't show anyone. I try making conversation, but he's locked in his room most of the time. Weird cause we used to hang out all the time." Y/n said.
"Well he's a teen. I mean when I was his age, this girl, Erin, and I used to-"
"Steve! What the fuck?" Robin yelled.
"What?"
"She's 14! She shouldn't be hearing about you and some girl boning!"
"You literally JUST SAID IT!" Steve defended.
"Y/n, cover your ears!" Steve said.
Y/n was just quietly laughing in the back seat.

*At the Wheeler's house*

"Y/n!" Mrs. Wheeler said as she hugged Y/n.
"So good to see you, Mrs. Wheeler!" Y/n said as they released from the hug.
"You too! Nancy is just up in her room! You can leave your luggage here, I'll have Ted bring it up!" Mrs. Wheeler said welcoming you in.
"Thank you, Mrs. Wheeler!" Y/n said as she came in and went up the stairs to Nancy's room.

"Y/n!" Nancy said getting up to hug her.
"Nancy!" Y/n said hugging her back.
The girls talked ALL day about their current lives.
Nancy, of course, talked to her about Jonathan while asking so many questions about him.
But she never told her about his new... activities he does with Argyle.

Soon, the sun was setting so they ate their dinner, talked some more, and slept, around 8 pm since Y/n was a little jet-lagged.

*Around 10 pm*

Y/n suddenly woke up with a massive headache.
"Shit"
Y/n whispered not wanting to wake Nancy up.
Y/n walked downstairs to grab a glass of water to see if maybe she was just dehydrated.
She drank more and more cups of water but nothing.
She went through the cabinets, looking for Advil, Tylenol, just pain relievers in general.
She found some Tylenol and took two pills.
She waited about 20 minutes but it only got worse.
"Y/n? You okay?" Nancy asked coming down the stairs.
"Yeah... I... I think..."
With that, Y/n fell down, passing out.
Before passing out....
*Tick, Tock, Tick, Tock*
"Y/n? Y/n! Wake up please!" Nancy cried out.
After a few minutes, Y/n woke up.
However, during those few minutes that Y/n was passed out, she saw something in her mind.
A vision?
Something that already happened?
She doesn't know.
She didn't want to tell Nancy or anyone really because she knew they would overreact and then they'll maybe try to get her enrolled to a mental hospital or something.

"Hey, are you okay?" Nancy said as she helped her back to her room.
"Yeah sorry. I'm sorry about that."
"No, no. It's fine, it's not your fault." Nancy said helping her sit on the bed.
After, they both went to bed, but Y/n couldn't seem to sleep that well after that image in her mind.
But who was that?

She had a cheerleader uniform on.
