Chapter Twelve

*At the Creel House*

"How do we get in?" Steve asked.
"Let me try." Y/n said.
She opened the door from the inside out using her powers.
They went in with flashlights.
It looked normal.
For an abounded house, at least.
But why would Vecna show this to Max?
Was it because it was where his first murder took place?
As they looked around, Y/n kept getting a feeling she recognized the place. She didn't know why, but she felt drawn into it.
"Okay, we'll split up into pairs. Y/n, you can come with Robin and I." Nancy said.
"Wait, why do you get the person with the powers?" Lucas complained.
"Okay fine then. Y/n, you can go with Lucas and Max." Nancy said.
"And leave me and Steve to die? No she coming with us." Dustin said.
"What? No." Lucas whined.
"Okay, I'll just go alone!" Y/n said.
"Fine." Lucas and Dustin said.

As Y/n walked upstairs alone, she went around looking for clues, or really anything.
She walked through the hallway looking at the walls.
The pictures were still hung up.
She took one down and just stared at it.
It was Victor and his family.
Wife.
Daughter.
And son.
The son. The only one not smiling.
Odd.
A weird sensation came over Y/n.
Recognition?
She put it back and went back to look everywhere.
"Guys come here." Max called.
They all go to her.
"What's wrong?"
"The clock. This is the clock I keep seeing in my trances."
"The lights." Nancy said.
"They're flickering."
"Vecna." Dustin replied.
"He's here."
*Around 9:25 pm*
After two minutes of following the flickering lights which led them to the attic, Y/n gets another headache.
"Fuck!" She says before she blacked out.
After a couple of minutes, she wakes up.
"Who was it?" Robin asked.
"Some guy named Patrick. He had a sports jacket on." Y/n replied.
"He was in a lake."
"Guys! The lights!"
As expected, the lights shatter, meaning Patrick is dead.

*The next morning*

After learning about Patrick and a bit more on Vecna, the group begin to look for Eddie.
He was at Skull Rock, which apparently, Steve "made popular".
After finding Eddie at Skull Rock, they explain to him about what they found/saw last night then told them about Patrick.
Eddie confirmed that Patrick did in fact die last night at 9:27 pm.
That's when the group told Eddie that it's when Y/n had the headache and when the lights shattered in the attic.

"I knew it!" Dustin said.
"What?" Steve asked.
"I was leading us the right way. I wasn't wrong, the compass was. But Lucas, remember what effects the direction of a compass?" Dustin asked.
"An electromagnetic field."
"In this case, a gate."
"We should follow it. Figure out why and how there's a gate." Y/n requested.
"Hold on, Eddie is still a wanted man here. We can't just risk getting him caught." Steve said.
Y/n and Steve just kept arguing back and forth saying why they should and shouldn't go.
Finally, Eddie agreed to go even if it risked him getting caught.

They arrived to where the gate was but it was in the lake?
"This is where Patrick died last night." Eddie said.
The oldest of the group went on a boat and onto the lake leaving the younger kids at the shore.
"Ugh! When did Steve get so hairy?" Lucas said as he saw Steve take his shirt off.
"I know right! I keep telling him to shave it, but he claims the ladies dig it." Dustin said.
"Let me see." Max said as she took the binoculars from Lucas not waiting for an answer.
"What..." Lucas said under his breath.
Max took about a minute looking through the binoculars.
"You want to see Y/n?" Max asked.
"Fuck no. I can't even stand being next go him right now." Y/n replied.
"Is it because of what happened in his car?" Dustin asked.
Max and Lucas looked over.

"No. It's just... whenever Nancy and I would hang out she would only talk about him. Then, she stopped. Now she won't stop talking about Jonathan. I love him, yes he's my brother, but he's all she talks about and vice versa. Now, she doesn't hang out with me anymore, and now she's talking to Robin about her boy issues. She's talking about Steve again. I'm not saying that I want to hear about her boy issues, it's just that she started talking about Steve first and now Steve again. I just feel like he's just taking her away again. When we lived here in Hawkins, she was more fun with Jonathan. But now she talks about Steve and is getting closer to him and... it just feels like he's taking her away from me." Y/n says.
"Sounds very narcissistic of me." She continued.

"No, it's okay. I totally get it. When I was younger, that's how I felt with Erica when she was barely born. I felt like she was taking my parents away from me." Lucas said.
"Me too, but with... Billy. I guess I thought that mom cared about getting things right with him more than she cared about me." Max said.

"Eddie? Eddie!" Men shouted from inside the forest.
The kids tried to hide, but then got caught.
They were sent to the Wheeler's house.

*At the house*

"What the hell were you kids doing there? You know there's a murderer on the loose!" The cops said interrogating them.
"Dusty! You should know better!" Mrs. Henderson said.
"You too, Lucas!" Mr. Sinclair agreed.
"Ok. We will talk to each one of you. Alone." The now police chief insisted.
"First, you." He pointed to Max.
Max was sent into a private room.
The rest of them went into the kitchen to talk about the different possibilities and then Erica came in wanting to know what was happening.
They told her what they know.
After a few minutes, Erica noticed Y/n acting weird.
"Y/n, you good?" She asked her.
"Yeah, sorry my head is throbbing."
"Is it another...?"
"No. The last time this happened..."
She stood up and walked to the chandelier hanging above.
"...was when I knew someone was it the Upside Down."
She said as she pointed to the light.
Flickering.
"S.... O.... S." Dustin said. It was morse code.
"They went through." Lucas said.
