Why me? (Stranger Things// Henry Creel)

Chapter One

*In the pipe room.
This is where Henry would take 012 to train her. Where they can be together alone. Away from everyone else.*

"Remember. Papa is always watching."
"I do not want to do this alone. I need help." She cried.
"I know. But you know I can't. 012... you can do this."
She whimpers. Tears welling up in her eyes.

"Listen, when the big hand on the clock goes to the 2 and the little one is in between the 3 & 4. That is when you will tell the guard you have to go to the restroom. The lights will be off for about five minutes. The cameras will be off. Get to the stairs and go down. The lights will be on again. Now this is the tricky part. The guards will be able to see you. You have to use your powers to get to the exit." Henry demands.

"But I can't. I'm not ready." She says as one single tear leaves her eye.
"Yes you are. This is why I have trained you. Just you."
"Ok." is all 012 says.

"After you get to the exit. Run. Just keep running. They will do anything to find you and they won't stop until they get you back, but your powers... they can make it seem like you never existed in their minds. When you get to the exit you'll have to control their minds. It will take a lot of strength, but I know you can do it, trust me. Can you do that for me? For you?" He asks as he raises her head to look at him.
"Yes."

"Good. Now go to rainbow room and do exactly as I said." Henry said as he gave her the keycard that can open any door in the lab.

*Door opens*

"Peter?" a child appears.
"Eleven, come." Henry motions to her.
"Is she coming with me?" 012 asks.
"No. Eleven will stay here with me and the rest of her siblings."
"Where?" 011 asks.
"Just to do some training with Papa. Nothing to worry about." Henry lies.
"Now, 012, can you do what I have asked you to do?" Henry asks.
"Yes, Hen- Peter." She says as she hesitantly leaves the room.
012 was the only child in the lab that knew his real name.

Everything went exactly as planned.
No one came after 012.
In their minds... she never existed. No file. No photo. No powers. Nothing. As far as they know, they never had a child named 012.

"Hey!" A man's voiced echoed from the forest.
"Hey kid!"

012 looks back.
"Come here!" The man motioned to her.
"What are you doing out in woods, kid? Where are your parents?" He asked.

012 didn't understand what he was talking about. Instead of answering his questions, she walked away. The leaves and sticks may have hurt her bare feet, but she just kept walking.
"Come back here!" He said as he chased after her.

He caught up and he called the police. Said something along the lines of "hospital gown" "alone in the woods" "not sure if its a boy or girl" "buzz cut" "barefoot" "thin as a twig"

In the meantime, he took her to a local park. Sat her down, waited for the cops.

"What's your name?"
No answer.
"How old are you?"
No answer.
"Are you a boy or girl?"
No answer.
"You want food?"
She looks at him. A single nod.
"Then answer my questions."
She goes back to looking at her hands.
"What's you name?"
She shows him the tattoo.
"012? Did your parents give you that? Did they hurt you?"
She does not know that word. "Parents"
She just looks at him.
"What does it mean? 012?" He asks.
She points at herself.
"Your... name..?"
A single nod.
"How old are you?"
She remembered Henry telling her she was eight years old. She was confused as she thought she was 012 not 008.
"...eight." She answers hesitantly.
"Are you a girl?"
A single nod.
"Where are you mom and dad?"
She shrugs her shoulders.
"Do you what they look like?"
She shook her head.
"Do you know where you live?"
"No."
"Where did you come from?" He asks.
She looks at him.
"Bad place."
"What do you mean? Do your parents hurt you?"
Just as she was about to control his mind to make him go away, the police arrived.

"Leonard. So what's the problem?"
A man asked as a weird some sort of fog came out of his mouth.
"Hey, Chief. See the girl? She came out of the woods..."
"...and she said she comes from a bad place. I don't know if she means that her parents abuse her or something..."
012 just wanted her food. She was practically being starved at the lab.
"You alright, kid?" The man in the uniform asked.
012 looked at him. She felt her blood come out of her nose.
What happened?
She didn't use her powers.
Not since she escaped earlier.
"Kid?"
Before she knew it, she collapsed on the floor.
