"It feels like we're oceans apart
There is so much space between us
Baby, we're already defeated
Everything changed me."

I've been thinking all night about our last meeting. Could Kinn's lover be so shy, blushing at the slightest touch? Something was starting to not connect for me, but I couldn't understand what. In the morning I questioned the man who spied for me again, but I heard the same thing as the first time - Pete is my cousin's love. I had to admit that all my plans started to get complicated because this boy had a strange effect on me and I had to make sure that something was truly going on between them.

I spent the whole day working on papers, but in the evening I decided to go out for a short, refreshing walk. After just a few steps, I sensed the familiar figure behind me, but I didn't stop.

"Hurry up," I said loudly, and heard a patter behind.

"Khun Vegas, what a surprise," Pete greeted me, giving me his charming smile.

I sighed at that outright lie, but pretended to believe it was random meeting.

"Beautiful night, right?" Pete asked, and I looked up at the star-filled sky.

"You could say that" I muttered, but when I turned my eyes to the man's face, I saw the glow reflected in those doe pupils. I swallowed hard as I noticed a gentle smile showing over his smooth face, and I just wanted to brush his features with my finger, feel the warmth of his skin and make him look like this only at me.

We walked on for a while longer without speaking, and while I felt uncomfortable with most people, now the silence made me feel at ease internally. Being with Pete was dangerous and addictive, I was slowly starting to fear him.

I entered Kinn's office early in the morning, wanting to file my report as usual, when I heard screams from behind the door separating his office from bedroom. I froze for a moment, but luckily it wasn't moaning, it sounded all more like an argument. One time I've came to him, with information about one of the yakuza's members and I found both of them in very inapproriate position on the table. Kinn gave me a free week that time and I've visited my grandparents but the image of two of them never left my head. After this I've decided to always leave his room when hearing weird sounds.

"I do not understand why you answer calls from this whole Tawan man?!" my friend shouted as he flung open the door.

"Maybe I will come back another..." I began, wanting to dodge them before they drag me into their fight, when Kinn, walking behind the Porsche, spotted me.

"Pete! Great you are here! Can you explain to your friend that Tawan took over from his father and if I like it or not, I need to talk to him about business?" I saw fatigue on the boss's face.

"I don't..." I looked helplessly at Porsche who snorted as he stood by my side.

"Pete! Can you tell your boss that he is in the mafia and that no one can force him to do anything, he probably wants to go out with this bastard himself!"

"Sir," I pleaded with Kinn, but he was only looking at Porsche.

"I can't end my business with people with whom I have worked for many years, you know. Be rational for once in your life."

We all froze as Kinn's words reached my friend. I saw his eyes narrow and as he tightly pressed together his pale lips, and I knew in a moment that this room will turn into a place of war.

"I won't talk to you like THIS," he shouted back and wanted to leave but Kinn ran up to him, blocking the door.

I was standing right behind Porsche, and before I was able to back up, their struggle led to a man pushing his strong body against me, and in response to it, me hitting a cupboard behind. I felt a pain in the lower part of my back, where the sharp edge cut into my skin. Immediately I fell to the ground, trying to catch my breath. The vase with flowers, standing on top of the furniture fell on the counter, spilling water on my hair. I hissed in pain as I clutched my buttocks, which were now throbbing dully.
