"I would never fall in love again until I found him
I said, "I would never fall unless it's you I fall into"
I was lost within the darkness, but then I found him
I found you."

I was sitting in the conference room across from Kinn, who was leafing through his papers and cursing softly under his breath.

"How does he do it?" he muttered to himself. "How did Vegas take over my old client?"

He looked my way, as if expecting an answer, but I was unable to help.

"Sir," I began as he turned back to his papers. "Is there any reason I'm here?"

Kinn sighed, rubbed the top of his nose between his eyes, and this time he looked at me more closely, then pulled out his phone and began reading.

"Sir, our target just left the house and headed towards the market square. Master Vegas stopped by one of the shops, bought some cat food, then went back to the next street and fed the animal hiding there. He was wearing a dark green shirt, the first two buttons unbuttoned, black pants and shoes. Many people turned when they saw him..."

I smiled at Kinn, recognizing the message I sent him this morning, but he didn't seem happy.

"What is this?" he asked, folding his arms as he waited for an answer.

"Re... Report?" I tilted my head, watching him uncertainly clench his fingers into fists.

"Are you kidding me?" his hand hit the table, making me jump. "You don't have to be that specific, I just need the information I can use, such as the fact that he met my client secretly. Why is there nowhere about this?"

I swallowed saliva hard as I nervously combed my hair. Boss was very unhappy about my work, and such things were rather rare.

"Unfortunately, he didn't see him while I was following master Vegas," I admitted, and Kinn sighed as he got up from the table.

"Okay, you can stop following him now, it doesn't make sense anyway," I froze at the words.

"But..." I began, looking for any excuse not to remove me so suddenly from Vegas's life.

"There is no but," he interrupted at once. "You can go back to Tankhun, he cried for you anyway. Or you know what, let's make tonight the last one. Maybe you can see something else, and from tomorrow, normal work."

I got up, nodding my head respectfully, then left, carefully closing the door behind me. I walked hesitantly to the corridor window and looked towards the fountain. Last time, today will be the last time I'm alone with Vegas. I still could sense our yesterday kiss on my lips, and I felt such regret. I closed my eyes against the wall and tried to calm my breath.

"Pete?" a voice from the distance brought me back to reality.

I looked where it was coming from and saw Porsche. He was standing in front of the room doors, staring at me uncertainly.

"What happened? Kinn did something to you?" before I answered, he added. "I'll kill him!"

"No, no," I said, smiling broadly at him. Putting on the happy mask was easy for me. "I just suddenly felt weaker."

"Wait here," he asked, and disappeared around a bend. After a few minutes he was back with the bottle in his hand. "Here, have a drink."

I accepted the water gratefully, taking a long sip.

"It's better now, thank you," I patted his shoulder. "I have to go, work is waiting."

I gave my friend one last smile and headed for the exit. I wanted to see Vegas as soon as possible. I promised myself to make the most of this day.
