"So honey now
Take me into your loving arms
Kiss me under the light
Of a thousand stars
Place your head on my beating heart
I'm thinking out loud
Maybe we found love right where we are"

We sat at the restaurant, one of Pete's favorites, and I watched with a smile as the love of my life gobbled up the spiciest pork I've ever tasted. At the same time he was telling me about his recent camping trip with Macau, where they spent the night under the stars. I couldn't stop but laugh when Pete talked about my little brother, who out of fear of wild animals, ran into his tent and categorically refused to go out, so they were forced to sleep together in the cramped space. All I could do was just to stare at him and wondering how I had managed to meet such an angel? Pete was beaming, his eyes shone like two coins, and though he was preoccupied with story, he still remembered what I like to eat, as he was putting more delicate versions of some dishes on my plate while talking. I poured for each of us a glass of champagne and we tapped it carefully.

"To our future together," I raised a toast, and Pete grabbed my other hand which was laying on the table. I felt his thumb brushing seductively against the delicate skin of my wrist.

"I love you very much," he said, and I felt everything inside melt with happiness.

"I love you even more" I assured and he made a funny face, before taking a small sip of alcohol.

I looked at him as I felt nervous for what supposed to happen after our meal. I've planned everything but still the doubt appeared in my heart. What if he will not like my approach? I didn't know how Pete would react to my proposal, I just wanted him to understand how much I love and cherish our relationship.

I apologized for a moment as I got up from the table and strode out into the hall, pretending to be heading towards the bathroom. In the meantime, I sent a waiter to come over to Pete with a small note and one lilly and ask him to go to the second zone. I only wrote a few words on the paper.

"Second floor, stairs - come to me, baby"

Being there alone, while waiting for him was the hardest part of surprise. I am not the most romantic type, even when I try my best, so I truly hoped he will enjoy this evening. Now I was just standing on the patio, which was closed for other guests, with the box in my shaky hands. I heard footsteps approaching, so I quickly turned off the main lamps and turned on the ones I had placed myself across the balcony. The entire front wall was in lilies, Pete's favorite flowers. I knelt, knowing he was coming, and that's when I saw him. My man stood in the doorway, looking at the place I had prepared in disbelief. His eyes shined as he approached me.

"Vegas," he whispered, and I opened the box to reveal a gold engagement ring, simple but beautiful with my name engraved inside.

"Pete Phongsakorn Saengtham, from the moment you came into my life, I understood what I had really missed all these years. I fought with myself, I didn't want to admit my feelings, but my love for you always won. I spent many years in the dark and the first ray of sunshine I could see was you. Always you. Only you. I love you, I adore every milimetr of you body and I wish I could express myself better, so you could see the amount of feelings I have for you but I am not the best speaker when it comes to my desires. Please marry me. Spend the rest of your future with me, because we belong to each other. From the moment I saw you in that mask, from the first kiss, you bewitched me. Now I am on my knees, asking you to let me make the rest of our days the best ones. Let me be the happiest man alive, Pete and say yes."

I waited, my throat tightening with nerves, and my little angel walked over to me, also kneeling down, and then he just rested his forehead against mine.
