"Shut up." I muttered, tossing open the door and shoving Marcus inside before Bella, my roommate woke up.

He stumbled onto my bed and let out a very drunken laugh before grabbing at my freshly tattooed hand. I hissed from the pain but didn't pull away as he explored the fresh red lines I'd done a few hours earlier.

"Did you bring the Vodka?" He finally asked, backing away and tugging off his shirt. I reached into my bag and tugged out the bottle.

We were both feeling pretty good. Whether it was the massive amounts of alcohol or the make out session we had at the bar, I wasn't sure, but I wasn't complaining.

I watched him take a long swig from the bottle before lying down on his stomach. "We'll regret this." he whispered for the hundredth time since I mentioned the idea last week. It was my favorite thing to hear. I smirked while tugging off my shirt and throwing it on top of his.

This would be Marcus' first tattoo and boy did I hope he'd look at it one day and regret it more than anything. it would make life more interesting for both of us.

I sat in my old chair in front of my bed and allowed Marcus to trace the old healed ink along my chest while I set up my tattoo gun.

After tattooing most of my dragon myself, odd positions came easy to me and the mirrors I had set up in my room worked great, unless I was drunk like I was now.

It took me a while to get comfortable and more sure of my hand positioning since I was feeling extremely wobbly, but I was excited to see what it looked like when I was sober again.

"you're hot when you try to tattoo yourself, Cass." Marcus muttered, barely touching me with his finger tip. I ignored him and held my breath, finally allowing the needle to puncture my skin.

The pain didn't compare at all to the pain I had felt on my chest and hand and it seemed to become easier as I continued.

It only took a few minutes and I smiled at the word on the back of my neck. pleasure. How lovely. I hoped it looked as good as I thought it did.

"Okay okay, my turn. do me." Marcus sighed. I spun around to face him and gently patted my lap. He watched me hesitantly before obliging and getting up to climb onto my lap.

I placed my hands on his hips and slowly examined him for the hundredth time. "Hey, don't be weird like that." He complained, covering his eyes. I rolled my eyes at him and went to reach for my tattoo gun once again, but I was interrupted by my phone ringing.

The first thing I did was glance at the clock. Once confirming it was indeed 3 in the morning, I glanced at the name on my phone, wondering who on earth was awake aside from Marcus and I.

"Is it Carli? god ignore her or i'll tell her i'm letting you fuck me."

tough words for a man who's been a relationship with a female for three years and just started fucking a random guy.

I ignored him instead and reached for my phone so quickly he would've fallen if it weren't for my left hand holding him down.

"mom? what's wrong?"

my mother let out either a choked sob or a relieved sigh, either way i had never heard that sound come out of her mouth before and I froze.

"Cass, your dad h-."

"Richard." I corrected.

I heard her take a deep breath over the phone, seemingly calming herself before she continued. "Richard had another suicide attempt. he was successful this time."

I pressed my lips into a tight line and ignored whatever memories of Richard attempted to come flooding back.

"okay." I muttered. Marcus' face had turned to a look of concern and he calmly stood up and planted himself back on my bed, attempting to give me space although he had no idea what was going on.
