Bella had set up an air mattress for me on the floor in the guest room. I could usually sleep anywhere so I insisted the boys take the bed - so long as they promised not to have sex while I was trying to sleep on the ground next to them. Sam and Sebastien actually fell asleep pretty quickly. I didn't get that luxury.
I could still hear commotion out in the living room and I was anxious. My mind was stuck on Cass and everything that had happened today. We hadn't really been alone together since the kitchen this morning and we didn't really talk about it either which he seemed grateful for.
My attempts to get him alone continued to fail miserably, he always seemed to have an excuse to avoid me. He'd dropped this giant bomb on us and couldn't even give me five minutes to try and convince him to not send me separately from everyone else.
After tossing and turning for what felt like hours, I gave up and decided that if I was going to be up, I could at least help out.
I slipped out of the room as quietly as possible. The living room was mostly dark except for a lamp in the corner that gave it just enough light that you could see where you were going.
Cass and Bella were giving Clint some new medication when I came out, they both heard me right away and glanced up. Bella seemed unbothered by my presence but Cass dropped the tubing for the iv, leaving Bella to deal with it. he headed for the kitchen without giving me a second glance.
I still didn't hesitate to follow him. Despite everything, I felt safe around Cass. His energy calmed me. And earlier, his gentle touches seemed to be his way of apologizing even if I was the one that made the mistake.
I winced at how bright the light in the kitchen was but made my way to the table and took a seat.
I used my arms as a pillow and rested my head on them while watching Cass move around the other side of the counter. I considered attempting to make conversation but I had a feeling I wouldn't get very far with him.
When he finally turned around I noticed a mug in his hand. I wanted to say no thanks but felt bad since he'd already made it, even though it seemed a bit late for coffee.
"Here, might help you sleep." He placed the mug in front of me. That's when I realized it was tea.
"You didn't make me coffee?"
"You don't like coffee. Did you want coffee?"
"No. No, this is good."
I took the mug and pulled it towards my chest, enjoying the heat and the smell.

"Elliot! Morning, we've got a car to pack up and a long ass ride ahead of us. Are you ready?"
I shot up at the sound of Andrew's energetic voice. It took me a moment to realize where I was, I noticed the still full mug of tea from last night and I felt a weight on my shoulders which turned out to be a blanket.
I must've fallen asleep while I was sitting with Cass.
"Uh, yea. What time is it?" I asked, attempting to push my hair out of my face.
"Around three I think? The boys should be arriving in town shortly." He grabbed something from the fridge and spun to face me.
His hair was so blonde it seemed almost white and his smile reminded me of a golden retriever, Andrew was so much easier to be around than his sister.
I tried to place how he and Cass were friends, they really were complete opposites. His energy reminded me of Abigail.
"They didn't wait to say goodbye?"
