I couldn't think anymore, all I could feel was the pain consuming me.
I heard voices, probably Rocco's but all i could see was a white light.
Is this what death feels like?

ROCCO'S POV

I knew Dinah would fall asleep on the toilet seat. She had a habit of going there anytime she was upset.
I didn't mean to make her sad though, i mean it was early in the morning but I shouldn't have argued with her, I should've just gone.

So when she entered the bathroom and locked the door, i left to make things right.
I called the nurse once before leaving the house and she informed me that grandpa wasn't home yet but he'd soon be fully discharged and be on his way.

While waiting, i made some food for Dinah, knowing she'd be hungry when she woke up...... she was eating for two after all.

After i made food, i ate mine and covered hers........ i wanted her to be awake by the time i was done but she was still asleep.

I know because i went in to check on her. She wasn't aware of the fact that the bathroom door had issues and I didn't bother telling her for moments like this when she irrationally decided to lock herself in.

I would've carried her to the bed but that would cause more harm and she'd only wake up more mad at me so i left her sleeping on the seat and left the house when I got a call from the nurse saying grandpa was back.

I knocked on the house when i got there and she a red haired lady opened the door "you must be Rocco"
Hearing her voice was a confirmation that she was the nurse I talked to on the phone.
"Come on in" she welcomed me, opening the door.

I stepped in the house, feeling chills down my spine as i did.
It looked homely..... the kind of warmth you get at a family house.
My grandpa was sitting on a wooden chair in the corner, a newspaper in his hand so i made my way to him.

"Pa" i said when i got closer and he looked up "oh" he said sharply looking at me like he knew why i was here.

The way he looked at me gave me goosebumps.
"Kiki, please get us some tea" he instructed his personal nurse and she nodded, heading out. Just before she left, he looked back at me "you'll have tea, yes?" He asked

I shook my head "no" but he just smiled and still nodded at her to go in and she left.
I cautiously took a  seat across him.

"I've been expecting you" he said "stage three of my cancer, I don't have much time you know"

"I didn't know you had cancer, pa just told me to hurry up before it's too late and he said we should come when she's eight months" i explained and he nodded
"Well, everyone got their share of punishments so here i am" he pointed at his wrinkled body and bar head.

"What now?" I asked at the same time the nurse came in with the cups of tea.

"Pre boiling the water always does the trick" she enthusiastically said dropping the cup on the table.
I fake smiled and nodded like i cared.
"I guess handsome runs in the family" she complimented as she stared at me and i smiled "thank you"

I bet grandpa could feel my discomfort cause he spoke up "if you don't leave for town, you'll be late Kiki" and she nodded "shoot that's right" she walked to her purse which hanged on a stand " well Rocco, I'll see you soon, i need to grab something from the town market" she said, i nodded a response saying "bye" and she left.

"The spirits really have made me suffer" my grandpa spoke "now that you're here, I'm happy because my time to go will come soon" he said.

"How do we rid this curse?" I asked and he stood up. I followed suit, watching him as he locked the parlor door and brought a mat from the corner of the room "first, a sanctified place" he said arranging the mat in the middle of the room. He was really prepared.
