| CHAPTER FIFTY - SEVEN |
"Okay, hit me."
Joshua runs the stylist on his ipad, "The first station we called was '03.... Out of all of the officers I only managed to get Kevin Moon and Jacob Bae." Joshua says, "It says here that they're excellent officers, Kevin's aim is apparently top notch, and Jacob's skills are outmatched."
Jun nods, "Next?"
Joshua scrolls, "We called '06, and managed to get Yang Jungwon and Park Jongseong, Jay if you may." Jun nods in understanding as Joshua speaks, "They're still a bit young, and Jungwon only started last year, but they're the only ones who agreed."
"How young?"
"Newly 18 and 20."
Jun hesitates, "Okay, that's fine."
"Then we contacted '02, and only managed to come out with one person," He says, "Jihoon, his name was. Lee Jihoon. His skills are top notch, and he can shoot a can on a tree stump from a mile away. He's good at sniping, it says."
Jun nods.
"Then, '09," Joshua continues, "We got quite a lot of them here, which I'm glad." Joshua begins to read, "Bang Chan, Lee Felix, Han Jisung, and Lee Know, or Minho if you want."
"Great."
"Then with '04, we got Jung Wooyoung and Jeong Yunho." He says, "It says here that they're both great at sneak attacks apparently, as well as extraordinary aim and quick reloading."
Jun nods.
"We called '12 next, and luckily got a good handful of people," Joshua clears his throat, beginning to read off the names, "Lee Taeyeob, Kim Sunoo, Lee Heeseung, Shin Kyubin, Choi Beomgyu, and Choi Yeonjun."
"Wow." Jun's eyes are wide, and Joshua nods, bewildered himself.
"And then finally, we called '18," Joshua says, scrolling down all the way to the last page, "We got Yoon Keeho, and Choi Taeyang, or Theo if you must." He tells him, "It says they're the smartest officers in the entire station, their reflexes are apparently outstanding."
Jun nods, taking everything in, "That's so many people," He's in disbelief, "I can't believe they're all helping us... I didn't expect..." He doesn't really know what to say, he's at a bit of a loss.
"Yep," Joshua has a grin on his face. He turns off the ipad, placing it down on the desk next to him, "They're all in the next room if you're ready to meet them."
Jun raises his brows, "They're here? Already?"
"Are you serious? We don't have any time to spare, we can't waste a single minute."
Jun knows Joshua's right, and that's why he soon finds himself trailing behind the older boy, eventually opening a door to one of the meeting rooms, eyes widening at the sight.
There were so many people in here, Jun was almost intimidated, the nervousness growing on him when all heads turn to the doorway, curious as to who entered.
"Finally," Dino rolls his eyes, getting out of his chair, "What took you so long? We can't waste a single minute."
Joshua snorts, "That's exactly what I said."
Jun walks past Dino, finding his way to the center of the room. He claps his hands a bit, trying to get everybody's attention, the room losing its muffled talking when he receives it.
"Before we head out, I just want to thank you all for coming," Jun takes a breath, "I know going on a mission to help a criminal kill isn't exactly what an officer's job is.... but this specific criminal means so much to me." He says, "I can't thank you enough for agreeing to help."
"You don't have to thank us," A blonde stands up, smiling, "I'm Taeyeob." He greets, "I'm glad to be here, we all are. Minghao seems like a lovely person." The grin never left his face, and Jun wondered how he was one of the most intimidating officers in his station. They had picked him for a reason.
But looking at the man next to Taeyeob, he was baffled they even worked at the same place. Their outer personas looked so different, and Jun was at a loss. It had to be Shin Kyubin, who else would it be?
"Jihoon here," Another man stands, waving slightly, "And yeah, I agree with him. I know most people wouldn't agree to do something like this.... but hey, we're all human. Some people deserve a second chance."
Jun smiles, thanking them both.
"I'm ready." Jun watches Jeonghan stand with a low breath, holding a hand to his abdomen, "No gunshot wound can stop me from helping my best friend. I hope you know that."
Jun nods, "Thank you so much, really."
"Alright," Everyone practically flinches when the door bursts open, Seungkwan clocking a damn machine gun within seconds of entering, "Everyone weapon up, this is gonna be exciting!"
"Chief?" Mingyu's eyes fly wide, "What are you doing here?"
"You think I'd miss this fight?" Seungkwan could laugh, "I've been after this goddamn man for years, I'm not missing this even if I've been shot half to death." Seungkwan spares Jeonghan a glance, "Stay strong, my wounded friend."
Jeonghan nods, patting his stitches.
"Alright, let's go!" Some quite literally jumps onto the table, walking across it. Everyone looks at them in surprise, eyes blown wide at the sudden action.
The boy soon goes silent at all the sudden attention, hopping off the table to land on his feet, "Jung Wooyoung, nice to meet you."
Jun chuckles awkwardly, "Likewise."
"Alright, let's go!" Seungkwan begins to explain the things needed for the mission as they all begin to leave the room, as well as where the weapon room was located.
Jun was doing everything he could to help Minghao, to save him.... and he just hoped to god he wouldn't be too late.
