| CHAPTER FIFTY - TWO | | MATURE |"What's this?" Minghao looks around.
They pulled up in front of what looked like a small house. It reminded Minghao of a cottage, it looked like something in a fairytale. Minghao almost saw the twinkle of tinkerbell's wand, he almost saw the moon smiling down at how beautiful it was.
"It's nothing really," Jun says, unlocking the car doors, "My parents and I used to come here every winter. It's warm and has a fireplace. I don't know, I thought it'd be comfortable."
Minghao looks at the house.
"But we could totally go somewhere else—"
"No no, it's okay." Minghao gives him a soft smile, and Jun might even call that the best sight he's seen in months.
"Alright then." They're soon both out of the car, Jun leading them towards the front door. A pair of keys jangled in his hands, and Minghao watched as he turned the lock.
The door opens soon later, and when Minghao steps inside, an immediate warmth fills his senses, flowing into his body like warm apple cider in a mug. It was beautifully comforting, and there wasn't even a fire set in the fireplace yet.
Jun closes the door, turning around. He chuckles awkwardly, hand on the back of his neck, "You can... get comfortable if you want."
Minghao nods, going to walk. But something stops him, a flare of pain. It was so distracting he almost fell, a whine slipping past his lips as he holds onto the cold wall.
"Woah—" Jun grabs Minghao, holding him so he won't tip, "Are you okay?" He's in front of Minghao in seconds, looking him over worriedly, "What's wrong? What hurts?"
Minghao lets out a breath, "My side." He pulls his hand back, and Jun's eyes widen at the blood. Minghao curses, scoffing, "Must've been a graze wound." He looks at Jun, "I'm fine."
"No you're not." Jun makes sure Minghao can walk before he's pulling him along towards further into the small house. The area was big, even though it looked small on the outside. Minghao found that illusion fascinating.
Minghao widens his eyes when Jun's hands hook under his arms, "Jump." Jun's face is way too close to his, and he tries to hide the way his face contorts into nervousness, his cheeks blushed.
So he jumps to pass the emotion, allowing himself to be placed onto the dining table. He looks at Jun, furrowing his brows, as if to ask, to wonder what he was doing.
"I'll be right back, don't move." Jun says softly, and Minghao nods, watching him run off.
He sits there for a moment, pondering why he's staying in this spot like Jun told him to. He should be running, he should getting the hell out of there. Him staying here was dangerous, and he knew that they'd most likely be found.
But Minghao doesn't move a muscle— In fact, he doesn't want to.
With everything that's going on, you'd think he'd follow his head. You'd think he'd go with what was right instead of wrong. But no, here he was, listening to his dumb little heart instead.
"Okay," Jun returns with a small basket, and Minghao peeks inside, seeing all the medical supplies. jun Jun for a moment, fingertips grazing the end of his bloody shirt, "Can I?"
"Go ahead." Minghao sighs, trying to hide the shakiness in his voice.
Jun lifts up the shirt a little, hissing at the long slice on the side of Minghao's body. And like the boy said before, it was definitely a graze wound. It wasn't bad though, it just looked like it burned.
