| CHAPTER SIXTY || EPILOGUE || three weeks later |
Minghao stares at the flowers, running his fingers along the roses.
He pinches a petal, smiling at the soft surface, the beautiful red making his eyes glint in wonder. The flower was beautiful, just as beautiful as someone he once knew.
"Minghao!" Minghao turns his head, watching Soonyoung walk out of the house, keys in hand, "You ready to go?" He asks with smile, "We can visit some people on the way, if you want?"
Minghao smiles, rising to his feet.
He was going to college pretty soon.
He wanted a degree. A real degree. Not the fake one Seungcheol had given him all those years ago. That meant nothing now, he wanted to earn his way into that field.
With whatever it took.
The car ride there was comforting. Although there was no music whatsoever, Minghao found the air conditioning and everything else that came with it peaceful. The silence was soft, and Minghao loved it.
They soon arrive at their destination, Soonyoung parking the car in the lot.
They both unbuckle their seatbelts, Soonyoung glancing at Minghao, seeing the blank expression.
He frowns, resting his head against the seat, "Are you gonna be okay?"
Minghao sits there for a moment, pondering.
He turns his head after a moment or two, "Would it be okay if I went alone?"
Soonyoung raises his brows, "If course, whatever you want." His cousin clicks his seatbelt back in, giving him a soft smile, "I'll be in the car whenever you're ready. Take your time, we still have a lot of time before we have to get to campus."
Minghao nods, "I'll be back."
The car door shuts, and Minghao prepares himself before walking up the small hill, making his way over to the columbarium, taking a deep breath when he arrives.
He takes a few steps closer, eyes landing on a name, one that he knew and loved.

Minghao smiles at the plate, sighing.
He lets his eyes travel down, his face blank. So many emotions were running through his body as he read all the names.
At first, he felt bad for causing so many deaths.
That entire fight was for him, he knew. That many people gathered to help him, to save him from that horrid man, and look where that got them.
But Minghao knew all of them were in a better place now, he knew they felt relieved, he knew they went swimming around in piece and happiness each and every day, looking down on their loved ones with the biggest smiles.
