6. To keep him safe...

Wang Yibo's POV:

I feel sad, hurt, and terrible at the same time. I didn't feel like this before.

 Wang Yibo's POV:

I never cared about feelings. I never Hated Zhan when we were kids and always considered him my friend. He was a little weird. He always covered his whole body with fabric; now I know why! He never played with other kids, but he was comfortable with me, and I was okay with that. But that doesn't mean I'll get married to him. Before yesterday I always thought he was a man, how can I get married to him? Same-sex marriages are not illegal but rare. As people want offspring and males cannot give birth to a child. So even if he has reproductive organs, he can't give birth to our child. I don't know why. But this realization is making me sad. It's the first time after our marriage I called him Qīzi!!! But I don't regret it, cause even if he was shocked and confused, his cheeks turned pink. And he was looking... cute!!!

When Yibo finally reached the palace, the first consort was waiting outside his chambers. When she saw him coming, she bowed in respect.

And for that, he spent most of his free time with his first consort. But even after years passed, she didn't get pregnant. When he consulted several healers (doctors), they said his consort has a mammal (Tiger) spirit. And the emperor is the dragon, so his kids can be bear in eggs. A mammal can't lay eggs. That made him sad; he loved her so much. But due to his stupid declaration, he can't make her his empress now. But now he has to marry someone with an Oviparous spirit (who lays eggs). And it's not easy to find one. But suspiciously, whenever his men found someone. That woman disappeared without a trace. He knows that someone is trying to create problems for him. That person doesn't want him to have his own child. Once he knows who that criminal is, he will show that bastard hell. His chain of thoughts stopped; when the first consort touched his face and asked worriedly, "What's wrong, your majesty? You look worried."

"Nothing, my dear. I was thinking about some court matters. Now let me taste what you made for me."

Coaxing her, he said, "Don't feel like that, my dear. It's not your fault. It doesn't matter who will be my Empress; you are the one I love the most. Don't cry now."

Then she calmed a little and said, "I know your majesty. That no matter what, you will love me till our death. But can I ask you something?"

"Ask whatever you want, my love."

"Your Majesty, what about the third consort? I don't want him to get punished, but I'm scared. What if he tried to hurt me again? I don't know why he hates me so much. You will protect me from him, right?"

"of course, my love. No one can hurt you; I'll never let that happen. Don't worry, but you should rest now. I've some work to take care of."

After beading farewell, she left the emperor's chambers.

First Consort's POV:

It's so difficult to act scared and pitiful always. How does that Xiao Zhan manage to do it every day? That idiot doesn't know anything; he can't even protect himself. I hurt him so much that I saw hate in his eyes for me. He was terribly injured, and I left him with no food or medicine. No, I'll keep him away from the palace; so that he will be safe. From the beginning, my only intention was to keep him away. But I never intended to hurt him. I'll talk to him tomorrow.
