Dragons passed them scowling at their accidental display of affection while others whistled. Some dragons slapped Qibli on the back brazenly.
In addition, many dragons grouched about their alleged relationship.
Qibli rested his head on Winter's shoulder boldly, causing Winter's breath to hitch from the sudden closeness.
"Sorry about this," Qibli whispered, "They just need to get used to the sight."

As Qibli and Winter approached the board, Qibli peered up and read the Winglets out loud until they finally reached theirs.
"Let's see... looks like we're in the Jade Winglet together! With Carnelian, Kinkajou, our roommate Turtle, and Moon. We know most of these guys! Talk about lucky placement." Qibli beamed delightedly, starting to sound to Winter an awful lot like Kinkajou. "And we'll even be with Moon so you can nerd out and talk about all things scavenger with her, too." he added thoughtfully
"It was only ONE time." Winter quipped rolling his eyes, debating on whether he should tell Qibli about the suspicious feelings he'd be having about Moon. Would he believe him? He didn't want to sound crazy if he was wrong, but he was almost certain of his theory.
He stared at the ground for a moment, weighing his options.
But what if she really was a mind reader, could it be possible?
"Two times, actually." Qibli corrected formally, clearly mocking Winter from the manner he was speaking.
Winter huffed affectionately, knowing that Qibli was right, and that Winter should just let this one go. What he couldn't let go of, however, were his suspicions of Moon. Winter really wanted to share his concerns with Qibli, knowing that if there was anything unusual about her, Qibli would be the first to sniff it out.
But he didn't want Qibli to assume this was just Winter overreacting because she was a Nightwing. Though in Winters eyes, that was impossible. He believed that you could never be too sure.
Winter shifted from talon to talon silently as they began walking to class, weighing his options. Finally, he stuck a pointed, silver wing out abruptly in front of Qibli and told him to stop.
"Hey. Hold on, there's something I have to say."
His heart thumped nervously, Would Qibli think he's out of his mind? Would he think of Winter as a vengeful conspirator and be uncomfortable around him? Like Icicle or his parents did when Winter had shared theories with them?
And why did the thought of that worry him more than the possibility of a Nightwing mind reader?
Instantly, Qiblis eyes flooded with concern and care, and Winter briefly wondered how he ever could have worried about Qibli abandoning him.
"You alright?" he asked, warmth shining from his eyes
"Listen, have you noticed anything strange about Moon?" Winter asked vaguely, giving himself enough room to back out from the conversation if needed
Qibli considered for a moment as he thought. "No, not anything in particular. Is something up?" he answered, leaning down to level with Winter, peering into his eyes searchingly.
Winter looked away, coughing awkwardly from the sudden close contact.
"Doesn't it seem like she always knows what you're thinking?" Winter attempted, earning an amused arched brow from Qibli
"Well, maybe she's just good at reading the room, something that Icewings maybe wouldn't know about." he grinned brushing his wing against Winters, trying to reassure him although he was confused.
