Qibli entered their dorm and took a few meaningful steps in... before being immediately pushed out.
"You can't be in here." Winter stated firmly as he pushed. Qibli dragged his claws to slow his banishment.
"What? Why not?" he protested, "This is MY dorm too!"
And more quietly he added, "And I wanted to talk now."
Winter's strength faltered a miniscule amount before he regained it and insisted hastily.
"I'll come find you later. I'm in the middle of something important right now. Can you wait for me in the dining hall?" he asked as Qibli was finally fully pushed back out into the hallway, standing awkwardly.

Qibli let a gust of wind blow between them, rustling Icicle's glistening spines and tingling Qibli's amber earring placidly, given the situation.
Qibli sighed, ready for a conversation change.
"Honestly, Winter isn't dating ANYONE, if that's reassuring." he explained as she raised a skeptical brow at him that practically snarled, 'as if I believe THAT'.
New words formed in Qibli's mouth as he sat thinking. Words of hope and intention he had purposely avoided saying aloud or thinking too deep into until right now. It was as if a rock had been lodged from his throat, allowing him to speak openly and honestly.
"But maybe I'll change that." he claimed with optimistic determination, his eyes shining with newfound affection at the thought of Winter.
Icicle dug her claws into the ground and her face contorted into a series of different emotions. Qibli guessed she was having an internal argument with herself.
I wonder who's winning, he thought amusedly, watching as she scowled at nothing in particular.
Yet he waited patiently, although he was eagerly anticipating her response to his sudden boldness.
After a long moment she barked forcefully, "Fine. I still can't say that I approve of this. But if Winter's going to be foolish for any dragon, I suppose you're not the worst option." she complimented off-handedly, "Not killable, at least."
Qibli snorted. "Oh, thanks. Glad that I'm not quite on the 'to kill' list just yet." he joked, delighted by her approval of him
She huffed, "Whatever. I'm done here. I have more urgent promises to keep than watching over my brother." she declared snootily as she stood and spread her crystal wings, reflecting the light like orange slivers of the sun.
"Yeah? Like what? Trying to find out who Winter's secret crush is? Oh, wait!..." he laughed as she frowned
"No." she said seriously, "He's been moping like his moody scavenger all day. I can't stand it. It's pathetic, really. He said how he was 'glad' that I wasn't in the history room earlier." she recalled disinterestedly as Qibli listened intently, "And I'm sure he is, he doesn't need another Icewing's blood on his claws."
Icicle thought considerably for a moment before grumbling, "No idea what HIS problem is now. Seems like there's a new one every day."
"Yeah," Qibli offered thoughtfully in return, "But he's strong. He can handle them."
Icicle cringed and rolled her eyes as though what Qibli had uttered was rotten.
"Anyways," Icicle declared abruptly as she approached the edge of the cliff, "let's hope we never need to speak again."
Qibli blinked, "Uh, yeah. Alright." he attempted waving at her slightly.
She nodded briskly before flying towards Jade Moutain, leaving nothing but swift wingbeats in her wake.
