Chapter 21

The city of Mathura was bustling with merchants from all over the country. The commonfolk was celebrating with joy and happiness as they awaited for their princesses husband.  Their days were filled with the exotic delicacy from Dwarka as the merchant and ministers in Dwarka decided to pass free food and drinks to the locals in Mathura to celebrate the suyamwar of their princess.

Subhadhra was the vivacious and beautiful princess of Mathura and Dwarka. She was the apple of her eldest brother Balarama's eyes. The Maharaj of Mathura never failed to indulge in every of her whims.

Her second brother Shri Krishna of Dwarka loves to involve her in all of his mischief. Together the sister and brother would make their eldest brother ran around trying to control their mayhem.

Their Subhadhra deserve the best man in the whole Aryavart. That was the slogan for all those who gathered in the city unaware of the turmoil inside the castle.

Bhama and Rukmini each sat next to Vasudev's queens Rohini and Devaki trying to pacify them while Vasudev paced around the room.

" How could she do this," Devaki cried softly causing Bhama to pat her shoulder.

" Did she say that she didn't want the suyamwar ?" Rukimini asked softly causing Rohini to shake her head.

" She was happy initially. She was the only princess among her peers who hadn't gotten married yet," Rohini said causing Rukmini to sigh softly.

The door opened and Balaram storde inside with a furious expression. Bhama and Rukmini furrowed their eyebrows as they saw they wayward sons Sambha and Pradayumna behind the Maharaj.

" She wrote a letter and ran off!" Balarama fumed and glanced at Sambha who then brought it to Vasudev.

Vasudev rubbed his forehead as he read the letter and glanced at Balaram.

" What is it ? " Devaki asked causing Vasudev to sigh softly.

" She didn't want to marry anyone Balaram had invited to the suyamwar," Vasudev said and glanced at his son who clenched his fist.

" She could have told me! I indulge in her every whims and she did this to me," Balaram said and punched the wall.

" She didn't ran off Balaram! You know that," Vasudev said causing Balaram to exhale his breath.

" Then shall I wage a war at the Pandavs for abducting my sister ?" Balaram asked causing everyone in the room to blink.

" Pandava...the ones that Krishna-" Satyabhama began when Balaram exhaled his breath and nod his head.

" It's with Krishna's permission that he abducted her. We can't do anything Balaram, your sister had consent ," Vasudev said causing Balaram to shake his head.

" That's not the life I would choose for her. With the yagnaseni in her life, it won't be all sunshine and happiness," Balaram said causing Vasudev to exhale his breath.

" Mayhaps but it is the life that she has chosen. I won't disown her," Vasudev said causing Balaram to glance at his father.

" You think I would ?" He asked while the others kept silent. Balaram shook his head and chuckled.

" Maata, prepare the things that we were planning to send with Subhadhra after her suyamwar. I will personally deliver it to her," Balaram said causing the queens to exhale their breath.

Devaki and Rohini along with their daugther in laws left while Vasudev ushered his grandsons away.

The court of Mathura issued a decree that Subhadhra had found her husband and currently travelling with her spouse to his motherland.
