Chapter 23

Yudhisthir smiled softly as Subhadhra  walked into the chamber holding a bowl of lukewarm water.

" Didi is interrogating the culprits," Subhadhra said with a soft smile causing Yudhisthir to give her a pained smile.

He stood up and frowned seeing Arjun's angry face as the man stormed into the room. His eyes widened seeing Yudhisthir standing inside the room while Subhadhra had began to wash the dirt and grime from Aaratrika's body.

" What's the matter Arjun ?" Yudhisthir asked causing Arjun to purse his lips together.

" It's not nice to see a princess of Mathura to clean up another woman...Any daasi could do it," Arjun said causing Yudhisthir to bite the inside of his cheek.

" Mayhaps but I am not cleaning a mere woman. I am cleaning my sister," Subhadhra said calmly causing Arjun to shake his head.

" Subhadhra," he began when his wife shook his head.

" Yudhisthir jiju, can you please him out. I will change her clothes," Subhadhra said with a calm smile causing Yudhisthir to nod and walk away with Arjun.

" Why do you hate her Arjun ?" Yudhisthir asked Arjun as soon as they stepped into their common room.

Kunti and Bheem blinked while Arjun clenched his fist.

" She...She is out to hurt Draupadi and -" Arjun said causing Yudhisthir to raise his eyebrows.

" Out to hurt Draupadi? Yet it was Draupadi who saved her and snarled at both you and Bheem before placing her in the royal wing," Yudhisthir said causing Arjun to swallow his saliva.

" Yudhisthir beta, Draupadi cannot get along with her. You saw them in Hastinapur. That girl is too volatile. She straight out told infront of everyone that she likes you," Kunti said causing Yudhisthir to smile.

" She likes me maasa. What's wrong if a woman likes me ?" Yudhisthir asked Kunti who was flabbergasted.

" Bhrata she will separate us!" Bheem boomed causing Yudhisthir to nod his head.

" That doesn't explain Arjun hatred...you and him both have other wives. Arjun even brought Subhadhra here...the very place Draupadi deemed as her own castle and told us explicitly not to bring anyone else," Yudhisthir said causing Arjun's eyes to widened.

" Subhadhra is woman with humility. She said that she is Draupadi's maid but that woman works to divide Draupadi away from you," Kunti said causing Yudhisthir to chuckle.

" She supports the Kauravs!" Bheem said causing Yudhisthir to nod his head.

" She supports the Kauravs because it was Duryodhan who stood up for Karn. If we Pandav's stood up for him then and allowed him to showcase his ability then she would have supported us," Yudhisthir said causing Arjun to raise his eyebrows.

" Karn is a sutputra! How could he be  compared with me ? " Arjun exclaimed causing Yudhisthir to smile.

" Talent should be recognised. Would it actually harm you if you allowed him to compete ?" Yudhisthir asked Arjun who turned pale.

Kunti's eyes widened and she shook her head.

" This is not you speaking Yudhisthir! That girl has clouded your mind! Come back to us son. I want my Yudhisthir back," Kunti said and clutched his arms causing Yudhisthir to smile.

" I am always here mother," Yudhisthir said and pressed her shoulder before walking away.

Aaratrika stood up groggily holding her head as she let out pained scream.

She pressed her eyes tight and then opened it, furrowing her eyebrows as she glanced around the room.
