Chapter 25

The garden of Mathura is exotic. The lush green grass grew everywhere with abydant of colourful flowers and bushes and trees.

A large banyan tree was located in the middle of the garden surrounded by dandelions and a long and thick stone bench.

Aaratrika hummed to herself as she sat on the bench. Her eyes sparkled, her saggy skin finally transforming into rosy and firm while her chapped and dried lips are now smooth and plump.

She was wearing a sky blue  ghaghra coli with peacock green lengha skirt with a baby pink shawl pinned from her coli to her skirt. Another magenta coloured shawl was placed on her head covering her hair and pinned on the other side of her skirt.
She was wearing a pearl maang tikka with a pearl and ruby based chocker and loop earrings. 

Infront of her, Pradayumna was sitting down obediently as he closed his eyes while Aaratrika was braiding his long and thick mane.

Devaki and Rohini who walked into the garden, glanced at each other with mirth shining in their eyes as they watched the boy and his pseudo aunt.

Aaratrika smiled as she saw the queens while Pradayumna blushed seeing his both his grandmothers catching him in a such a vulnerable position.

" You look adorable Pradayumna," Devaki said causing the boy to blush and roll his eyes.

Rohini chuckled and pinched the boy's cheek before informing him that Vasudev was looking for the young boy.

" I almost forgot! I have lessons with grandma mausi," Pradayumna said and stood up before running away with his partly finished braid.

The ladies chuckled as they watched him sprint away. Aaratrika patted her stomach softly as she smiled at the queens.

Her abdomen began getting larger and larger causing her to feel fatigue and achy all over her.

" How's the child treating you ?" Rohini asked with a knowing smile while Devaki smiled as she handed Aaratrika a sour mango.

" The laddoo is very naughty! Keeps kicking me very night until Maharaj comes and visit us," Aaratrika pouted and rubbed her belly.

Devaki's eyes widened with elation when the baby kicked as soon as she placed her hand.

Rohini placed her hand on the other side of her stomach and the ladies gasped as two kicks was felt simultaneously.

" That was new," Aaratrika said with wide eyes causing the queens to smile.

" Is it possible for you to be carrying more than one child ?" Devaki said causing Aaratrika to gasp.

Her eyes widened as she swallowed her saliva. Devaki and Rohini blinked seeing the woman's face and quickly helped her to stand up.

" What's wrong Aaratrika?" Devaki asked in a worried tone causing Aaratrika to shake her head.

" I am not feeling well. I will leave first," she mumbled and began to waddle away leaving the Queen mothers in confusion.

Balaram who just finished his court session of the day walked out from the main chamber and entered the Royal wing corridor.

He tilt his head as he saw a figure sitting on the end of the stairs. Balaram's eyes widened as he noticed it was Aaratrika once he went nearer to the figure. He quickly walked towards Aaratrika and placed his hand on her shoulder.

His face turned into a frown when the woman tilt her head and looked at him with crystallike eyes.

" What happened to you ? Why are you sitting here ?" Balaram inquired softly as he helped her up.
