Karna glanced at Duryodhan who was pacing up and down his room as he berated the Pandavs for not showing up yet.
Ashwatthama leaned against the window railing and looked at Duryodhan who was fuming while Karn who kept glacing out of the chamber.
" Are you waiting for someone Karn ?" Ashwatthama asked causing Duryodhan to snap his eyes towards Karn.
Karn exhaled his breath and nod his head.
" Duryodhan...is it necessary to get your revenge ?" Karn asked causing Duryodhan to snap his eyes at Karn. The man bared his teeth as he clenched his fist while Karn kept a composed look.
" How can you say this mithir! They humiliated me and my father! I gave them that land ! Without my consent they wouldn't have gotten anything and yet I am insulted! The worst is you! My own mithir going agaisnt my back!" Duryodhan said with a face that contorted with rage.
" I will always stand by you mithir!" Karn said as he stood up while Duryodhan curled his lips and turned away.
" If so then why do you keep insisting me to stop this ?" Duryodhan asked causing Karn to rub his forehead.
" Because of me," a soft voice said causing Ashwatthama to immediately stand up straight and pointed his arrow towards the door.
Duryodhan furrowed his eyebrows as short figure opened the shawl covering her head. His jaw went slack and horizontal wrinkled appeared on his forehead as he stared at the woman standing infront of him.
" Aaratrika," he said in a surprised tone causing Aaratrika to give him a small smile.
" Suyodhan, I came to-" Aaratrika began when he gave her a sardonic grin before looking at Karn.
" So Karn brought you here to try to appease me ? Are you a wh*re Aaratrika like Banumathi loves to remind me off ?" Duryodhan said with a curled lips.
Aaratrika's eyes widened. She mouth parted open as she looked at Duryodhan with a quivering chin, feeling tormented with the words her barked out.
" Duryodhan!" Karn roared in rage as his nostrils flared and jabbed his finger on Duryodhan's chest.
Ashwatthama gazed at all of the with a hint of worry.
Duryodhan's face became flushed. His lips pulled back, baring his teeth out as he shoved Karn away and stared at Aaratrika.
" What! You came here to support me or ask me to stop my revenge ?" Duryodhan snarled causing Aaratrika to flinch.
Duryodhan let out a guttural laugh as he looked at her with hateful eyes.
" You always wanted Yudhisthir! I heard you rather be his wh*re than staying in my kaka's Palace! Don't try your witchcraft on me Aaratrika! If you truly cared for me, you would have married me! You think I don't know !?" Duryodhan said as he walked closer towards Aaratrika who began moving away in fright.
" You hid in a village being his mistress! You took the first opportunity to ran away when I went to Maharaj Balaram's gurukul! I asked you to marry me and you preached about all kind of virtue and ended up being a sl*t for the Pandavs! Now your back to do anything so that the precious Pandavs are unharmed! Is Maharaj Balaram to bewitched by you that he allowed you to come back or are you a daasi to both the Yadava prince now that choti ma banished you from pyare Yudhisthir's Indraprasada!?" Duryodhan spat on her feet causing Karn to let out a roar and pushed him away, warning Duryodhan to keep his mouth shut.
" You...Am I a wh*re in your eyes Duryodhan?" Aaratrika said in a small voice as she looked at him with unshed tears.
Ashwatthama exhaled his breath. He pursed his lips as he stared at Duryodhan. His posture perking up in wariness as he cautiously approached the Panchal Princess.
