Day: Sunday (Next day after the memorable meeting between Aryan and Arya's dad)

Arya and Aryan were at a mall compensating for their previous plan. They were supposed to meet on Saturday but, as Aryan couldn't make it, they decided to spend the entire Sunday together.

They were watching a horror movie which was Arya's choice. Korean dramas taught her that one of the best ways to get closer to her partner was by watching horror movies together. So, she decided to try it out.

Aryan was lost in his thoughts. He was not able to make up his mind about breaking up with Arya, who was almost everything to him. He had never experienced this kind of zeal and happiness. How can he give up so easily?

The lights in the theatre were turned on, indicating the interval.

"Aryan, where are you?" Arya turned Aryan's face towards her and asked him.

"What do you mean, Arya? I am right here in front of you?"

"Just physically, but mentally you are somewhere else." Arya made it clear to Aryan that she had noticed his discomfort.

She held his hand and asked if he was okay. Aryan understood that she could read his mind. So, it's best that he stops worrying about his future and lives in his present. He then put his other hand on hers and assured her that he was fine.

They both enjoyed the movie and afterwards went to the newly opened ice-cream parlour. Even though Aryan was trying his level best not to be upset, he was drifting in sadness as the time was passing.

He knew that he had to do it today as per Arya's dad's instructions. He clearly remembered his words wherein her dad had told him to break her heart.

Aryan saw the innocent look on Arya's face when she was eating her favourite Belgian chocolate ice-cream.

Why are you so sweet, Arya? Why does this have to turn out like this? How can I break your fragile heart? Aryan was busy thinking about the outcome of what he had planned to do today and somehow was not prepared for that.

When they were about to leave the parlour, Aryan held her hand before she could get up from her seat. Arya looked at him in a confused way and noticed that he was trying hard to say something.

She then sat down again and looked at him carefully. She noticed a strange kind of look in his eyes which she had never seen before.

"Aryan, what's wrong? Why do you look upset?"

Aryan couldn't answer and was trying his level best to speak out loud. He tried saying something but failed. Arya then held his hand and asked him again.

"Aryan, say something. I can see that you have been lost in some thoughts since morning. What is it?"

When she didn't get any answer, she took his hand and said "let us go to the game zone. Maybe you'll feel better." Aryan took off her hand from his and looked into her eyes. It was a deadly stare which made Arya scared.

"Can you just get out of this fantasy world of yours and see reality? I am tired of running around with you just like the way you want. I am not your puppet, Arya."

There were a few people around them who gave them a questionable look. Arya looked at him surprisingly. She was almost teary eyed but still tried to control herself.

"Aryan, let us talk somewhere in private. Others are getting disturbed."

"Why is it always that you are bothered about everyone else, except me?" Aryan raised his voice.

"Listen to me Arya, I am tired of your bullshit and I am not taking it anymore. So, it's better for both of us that we part our ways and live our lives happily WITHOUT each other."

Aryan stressed the word 'WITHOUT' showing her what he wanted. Arya understood that he wanted to break up with her.

"You are embarrassing me, Aryan. Let's go." Arya got up from her chair with eyes full of tears. She was never comfortable crying in front of strangers. She didn't want to embarrass herself and so started walking towards the car parking.

"Wow. So, I am the one who is embarrassing you." Aryan continued talking when Arya was forcing him to go with her to a more secluded place.

"What is wrong with you, Aryan? What the hell was all that?" Finally, Arya let go his hand as they reached the car parking area. There was nobody in there except the watchman, who was relatively far away.

"Did I say anything wrong, Miss Arya Malhotra? Just look at yourself. Why did you ask me to come here? Because you are afraid if someone sees us together. You always care about yourself, your happiness. It's always about YOU." Aryan was talking in a high-pitched voice which was confusing Arya. She had never seen this Aryan before and was clueless.

"Where am I in this relationship? Where is my happiness? Even today, you forced me to come with you when I wanted to help my father with some other work. I clearly told you let's meet some other time. But, you kept on calling and disturbing me that my parents told me to go with you." Aryan was shaking with anger and his eyes were full of hatred.

"I am so done with you bossing around me. I am a human being, Arya, not a machine that you can operate on remote control. I am not your pet that you can play around with." Saying so, Aryan joined his hands and pleaded with her to let him go.

"Miss Arya Malhotra. I am tired of being your toy. I want my freedom. Let us end this so-called relationship here. We are not suitable for each other. Let us break up before we regret it." Aryan didn't wait to see Arya's reaction as he knew she would be vulnerable.

He didn't want to look into her eyes as he himself was feeling extremely weak and horrible. He just wanted to run away as far and as soon as possible. So, he did, without saying anything further and even without waiting to hear what Arya had to say.

Arya was standing there dumbfounded. Her driver spotted her standing. He then took the car near her and asked her to get in. She looked at him blankly and sat in the car. He noticed the sadness on Arya's face and so started driving towards her home without asking anything.

When Arya reached home, she got out of the car and went straight to her room and closed the door behind her. Her father was there in the living room. He noticed Arya's blank face when she was climbing the stairs.

He guessed what must have happened and felt proud. He gave a wicked smirk when his driver called him and told him what happened at the mall and how Aryan broke up with Arya.

Yes, you guessed it right; the driver was one of the spies. Mr. Malhotra heard everything and thought about how quick-witted Aryan is.

He was proud to see that Aryan valued his career rather than his love and was now sure that he would not be a part of Arya's life anymore.

Meanwhile, Arya got out of her room after almost an hour and saw her dad in the living room. She had changed her clothes and was now wearing a casual loose white t-shirt and black jeans. She had her favourite study bag on her right shoulder.

She looked at her dad and asked him if she could go to Kavya's place to complete her project. Her dad agreed and before he could turn, she ran to him and hugged him.

Her dad was taken aback by this action. He didn't know how to react, but understood that his plan had worked and Arya is deeply hurt.

She wouldn't do this unless she is feeling vulnerable. He then just gave a pat on her back when he heard her saying "Thank you papa. I love you very much." She then wiped her tears and went out of the house.

"Trust me Arya, this is only for your bright future." Her dad said to himself and went inside his room. Arya reached Kavya's place and told her everything.

"You know I am always there for you, Arya. Don't worry." Kavya hugged her and consoled her best friend. Arya asked her to get something for her and Kavya went out to arrange the same.

What do you think Arya is planning now? Has she seriously given up on Aryan or is she thinking of tackling the situation in a different way? Let us find out the answers in the next chapter.
