I lay splayed across the couch, reading Vanya's book, since I never knew it existed until I saw it in Dad's bookcase. It was pretty interesting.

Chapter 16: Number Eight

My sister Y/N was always nicer to me. She often snuck down to the basement to hang out with me, or spend more quality time with me on the small amount of free time we have on Saturdays, but she mostly spends it with Ben.

Nevertheless, she always stood by my side, and I always stood by hers. It broke my heart when she left with all of our siblings, not even sparing a goodbye for any of us.

I stopped reading at that. Was that how she felt? Now I feel horrible.

Clink!

What was that?

I stood up cautiously, walking toward the front door, and saw two people with masks and guns, standing there, the door closing behind them. One of them cocked their guns. I narrowed my eyes. Both of them started shooting. I ducked down and rolled to Blue's feet. I swiped at his legs and he fell to the ground with an oof. Pink hissed. OK, this was definitely a woman. She pointed her gun at my abdomen but I flipped just in time, kicking her in the face in the process. The rest of my siblings ran down to see the commotion and one by one, we started fighting the masked guys together. I ended up with Blue in the living room. I kicked him down on the table and pulled Vanya to the side.

"Vanya, I want you to stay here," I said. She nodded, her face pale. I rushed back, and whistled. One of the daggers from the cabinet came sailing across and impaled Blue in the shoulder. He cried out in pain, but managed to pull it out.

Oh wow, he's got guts.

He swung the dagger at me. I ducked and punched him across the face when I came back up. He roundhouse-kicked the knife from his fingers and started vocalizing. He held his head, groaning and falling onto the ground.

Just then, I heard a yell. I turned around to see Pink throwing Vanya against the wall.
Where those god-awful siblings when you need them?!

"Do I have to do everything by myself?!" I muttered, rolling my sleeves and cracking my knuckles. I started running over but Blue grabbed my foot and I fell to the floor, my nose making a sickening crack!

I groaned, warm blood dripping down my face as me and Blue fought, blowing up pillows and breaking antiques. God, how mad Dad would be if he were still alive. He hit me on the head with a random stick he found, and I started getting dizzy. I felt a cut opening on the side of my head and I staggered backwards into the near-ruined couch. Just then, Luther came to my rescue. It was one of those rare once-in-a-life-time situations that I was actually glad me was with me. I pushed myself up, my blood dripped onto the carpet, turning it crimson. I stood up shakily and started humming Sweet Grace. My wounds slowly healed, but I still felt squeamish. I got up, and with a cry, I charged at Blue, knocking him backwards into Luther. He grabbed Blue and threw him against the wall into the table. Luther rushed towards him and I hobbled after him. I caught a glance at Vanya with a cut across her cheek, and ran towards.

"Are you ok?" I asked worriedly, brushing my just under her cut. She nodded, still not speaking. I I ran up the stairs to see Pink, running from one of the hallways, chased by Allison. She caught my eye and nodded to her.

I got this.

I gotta admit, Pink was good. She met all my punches and kicks. But I managed to knock the air out of her. She fell on the ground, gasping.

I turned around to see how Luther was doing. I really couldn't tell. Blue was just as buff as he is. Suddenly, the chandelier loosened, and it crashed down on Luther. I screamed.

At the same time, I heard, "Y/N, watch out!" before it all went black.
