When I started the Klein Twins I had no idea what the story was going to be about. I wrote down in the beginning that I wanted this to be a normal Stiles Stilinski fanfic and end at season 6B with a little cute ending chapter as a look into the future. I wanted the twins to be misunderstood kids. Of course, this changed as I started writing and fell in love with changing the story and adding the Scott McCall story line and adding the Mikaelson ruling New Orleans.
I always loved when stories changed and that's why I never stopped Scott McCall. Originally that was just there to mess with the Nogistune and Azi but thanks to a certain someone who I met while writing this series, I started to understand that this book is more than just a book.
This was just one plot line I had from a few different ideas that I crossed out:
1. Dexter was going to be a cousin of Zoe's. He was going to be Klaus's son replacing Hope and living with Zoe during New Americana.
2. Zoe was going to be Dexter's younger sister. It would only be by a year and she would still be in their same year but she would've looked up to Stiles and Scott.
3. Elise was going to be a bigger part in season 4 meaning she was going to be siding with Kate Argent and Peter Hale wanting to kill the kids.
4. Elise was going to end up with Parrish.
5. Frank Klein was supposed to die in season 5b. He was never going to get the forgiveness of his kids and Elise and he was going to sacrifice himself.
6. Matt was supposed to live. (Honestly my biggest regret killining him.) He was supposed to be apart of Louis Alarie's group and get on Dexter's good side but I wanted him to be happy. He was going to come back in Season 5 with Theo and work with Theo.
7. If I had the chance to rewrite Kids In America, Zoe and Dexter would have more blood on their hands. (I don't want to spoil anything)
8. Either Zoe or Dexter were supposed to die at the end of the Season 6B.
