Long ago in a village on the edge of a forest there was a young girl. Everyone said she was the most beautiful girl in the village, and she was kind and sweet. She had black hair that she tied up in a bow and big green eyes that looked like a glade in a forest. Every day she went to the edge of the forest to pick flowers and berries that she thought looked pretty. Her mother always told her not to go into the forest because it was haunted. Children went in and often didn't come out, and if they did come out, they weren't whole anymore. Some children were missing a hand or a foot, or even just a finger. They were also not mentally whole either. Their memory was hazy, or they went insane altogether. One thing that they all reported, however, was a white bunny. The older villagers could never make sense of this because there were no animals in the forest. They came to the conclusion that it was a witch and forbade their children from ever going into the forest for any reason. One day the young girl walked to her usual flower picking spot and found the white flowers stained red with blood. She followed the trail until she found a white bunny curled up in the grass. Its leg was bleeding profusely. She immediately untied the bow in her hair and wrapped it around its leg to stop the bleeding. The girl then picked the bunny up carefully and followed the trail of blood back to where it had come from in hopes that she could find where the bunny came from. She paused when she saw that the trail went into the forest, but when she looked down at the bunny, its nose was twitching less and less, and she decided to go into the forest. As she followed the trail deeper and deeper into the dark woods, she took care to make sure the bunny was warm and that the bow was tightly tied around its leg. The trail of blood began to get spotty and there was less and less of it. Once she could no longer find any more blood she looked up and there was a cottage in front of her. There was no path leading up to it, it looked like it had just materialized right in front of her. The girl looked down at the bunny again and it looked like it had a little bit more life in it, so she decided to walk up and knock on the door of the cottage. When she raised her hand to knock, the door swung open on its own, scaring her. She called out, asking if anyone was home and when she got no answer, she stepped inside. She cautiously walked down the hallway past the main room and looked into each room. Strangely, each room was empty except for the room at the end of the hall. When she peeked in, she couldn't see anything, so she swung the door open wider and there in the center of the room was a grotesque creature made from a motley assortment of parts. Each hand and foot were different sizes and it had stitches joining each appendage. It had many different colors of hair, and it was wearing a patchwork dress that looked like it was made from all different materials. It also had dark gaping holes where its eyes should have been. The girl screamed and ran back into the main room and once she got there, she found the door closed. The bunny jumped out of her hands and as the ribbon fell from its leg, the girl saw that there was no scratch there at all. The bunny began to transform until an old woman stood in front of the girl, looming over her. The last thing the girl heard before a hand covered her vision and everything went dark were the words, "Finally, my creation will be complete." Later that evening the girl's body was found at the edge of the forest, lying in a bed of flowers. She looked untouched and it would have been hard to tell she was dead, if not for the gaping holes where her eyes should have been.
