We arrived at a bar near the training ground shortly after finishing, and sat down at a table. Lauren got everyone's orders and made her way up to the bar, insisting on paying as she 'hadn't done it in a while'. I wasn't sure if we were going alcoholic with our drinks; but after Lucy ordered a Carling, I had one too. I made my way up to where Lauren was, and grabbed both cans of Carling along with Ellie's vodka and coke, leaving Lauren to carry the two leftover glasses of some alcoholic thing. I placed the three I was holding down on the table and then took a seat in one of the remaining chairs. Lauren followed behind me, placing down her two then perching on the seat next to me.

"Thanks Hempo." Lucy spoke up, a chorus of "thanks Lauren" flooded the table afterwards, the girls started making their own conversation. I would've joined in, but hundreds more messages were flooding my inbox. I decided to quickly mute everyone other than the girls on the team and my mates. And placed my phone down on the table, finally joining in the conversation.

"I still can't believe you're actually here. Les talked about you so fondly." Ellie chuckled,
"it was a casual thing. She was out, in a way. But we didn't shove it in faces "
"That makes sense." Lucy added, "I came out to the team before I did my parents," She glanced at me, as if everyone else had already heard the story, "we were a very Christian household."
"Same with my family. I'm not in contact anymore though, my sister turned out gay too. So they must've done something." I chuckled, the women all smiled,
"Not in contact at all?" Lauren asked, making me switch my gaze to my right,
"No, I was the one who cut it off though. They were not the nicest people to my first girlfriend, I mean. She turned out to be a bitch as well, but... Okay! Enough about me, I wanna hear all your dating stories. Let's start with... Lucy."
"Uh- not much happening with me."
"That's bullshit and you know it!" Lauren laughs,
"Okay. Fine. We're not exactly dating or anything, but her name's Keira Walsh."
Georgia's face drops, she bursts into a fit of laughter, "oh my god." She says through chuckles, "I knew it!" She glanced at Ellie, "you owe me a fiver."
"Wait a minute. You're were betting on my love life?"
Ellie and Georgia start giggling,
"Who's next?" Lucy starts,
"Hmm. Georgia. What's happening with you?" I ask,
"I've got boyfriend." She smiles, "I'm one of the only straight ones on the team."
"Boring!" Ellie jeers,
"Okay what about you then Roebuck?" Georgia laughs,
"Nah. Literally the most boring love life ever, I'm not with anyone."
Everyone goes silent for a second,
"No calls of bullshit on that one then?" I chuckle, glancing at Lauren,
"Come on then Lauren. Tell us what's happening with you." Lucy said,
"I- uh. We actually just broke up.
"You and Butler?" Georgia asks,
"Yup."
"Why?" Ellie asked, "what happened?"
"We just weren't getting on. Decided we'd be better off as friends."
"Ouch. That's never good." I reply,
"You're right about that." Lauren smiles gently. The three girls opposite started their own conversation, and Lauren slipped out quickly. Making a bee-line to the bathroom. I glance at the girls chatting and decide to follow her, just to check up.

I push the door to the womens toilets open and see Lauren, standing over and leaning on a sink. Her heavy breaths visible from the back. I slowly walk over towards her and stand at one at the other sinks. The blonde notices me standing there and straightens herself up, turning to face me.
"I have a feeling your not telling the whole truth." I start, breaking the silence.
"And how do you know that?"
"I've had to lie enough myself. I know the signs,"
"You barely know me? How can you tell my signs?"
"Everyone's are roughly the same. Quietness, trying to be alone and some kind of habit. Yours I've noticed is tapping your foot. Look, I know we only met this morning, but I can see that you're not okay. So. What really happened?"
Lauren sighed, giving up the barrier she had enclosed herself in.
"She cheated on me. I have no idea why I'm telling you this. But she cheated with one of her teammates."
"Who does she play for?"
"Wolves." Lauren sighed, "her name's Ellie. Ellie Butler."
"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to pry. It's just. I think you deserve better than that. You seem like an amazing person."
"Thanks." She smiled,
"Anytime."

We made our way back to the table to find the three women still chatting away. Even though Lucy did notice us approaching, she decided not to say anything or alert anyone to our arrival. Which both me and Lauren were internally grateful for. We all finished our drinks and then went out separate ways. I headed back to my hotel and settled in for the night, I had just got into a pair of shorts and a t-shirt for bed when my phone buzzed on the side. I picked it up and noticed an Instagram message from non other than Russo.

I did have training tomorrow. That bit wasn't a lie, but I didn't have it all day. In fact I had nothing planned in the afternoon at all.
