Hailey woke up to the sound of Georgia crying. Her legs were sore, she couldn't move them. "Georgia?" She whispered.
Georgia whipped her head around, crawling towards Hailey. "I should've stopped him."
"It's not your fault." Hailey said quickly. She placed a shaking hand on Georgia's. "That's what happens here when you back talk. Let's just not tell my mom when we get out of here. She might kill someone." Hailey let out a dry laugh, looking at Georgia with wet and tired eyes.
Georgia frowned, trying not to let anymore tears fall but failing. She cleared her throat. "Um, I'm sorry for everything that's happened to you. Especially with Kyle."
Hailey shifted. "Don't apologize for other's actions." Was all she said. "You aren't that bad." Hailey locked eyes with Georgia.
Georgia nodded her head. "I try not to be." She looked at Hailey. "Kyle, really, isn't that bad either. He just has a rough time showing how he's feeling. But," A soft sigh left her lips. "He would die for those he loves in a heartbeat."
Hailey smiled sadly. "Let's play a game. You know, to try and distract ourselves from what's happening." Georgia hummed, silently agreeing with Hailey. "Ever heard of 20 Questions?"
Georgia nodded her head. "I'll go first. What's your middle name?"
"Analise. I hate it." Hailey chuckled. "You?"
"Mari." Georgia responded.
Hailey nodded her head. She began thinking of her question. "Um... What do you see in Kyle?" She asked.
Georgia took a deep breath. "Um, do you want me to lie?" Hailey shrugged her shoulders. "Well, a lie would be that I like how he's masculine and handsome and sweet. The truth, um," She gulped, looking around her. "Would be that he got to see you every day and I didn't, so I dated him to get to see you." She whispered.
Hailey did nothing but blink. "Like, you wanted to be my friend?" Hailey asked.
She knew that Georgia didn't mean what she said like that. She, also, didn't realize how close they were. Georgia looked into Hailey's eyes, her breath stuttering. "I liked you." Was all she said before she closed the gap.
It was a quick peck before Georgia pulled away. She scurried away from Hailey. "Holy shit, I'm so sorry." She muttered, hiding her head in her hands.
"Georgia-"
"I-I shouldn't have done that."
"Hang on-"
"I just wanted to kiss you and I know you don't even like me!"
"Georgia, let me talk." Georgia stopped talking and looked at Hailey. "I've never kissed a girl before..." Georgia opened her mouth to speak, but Hailey kept talking. "I've been thinking about what I liked for a while, and you just helped me figure it out."
Georgia smiled. "Why haven't you kissed Rachel?"
Hailey scoffed. "R-Rachel? No, I don't-" Georgia raised her eyebrow. "We're not-" Georgia's smile grew. "Okay, maybe I do like her. I didn't realize until literally right now." She told Georgia.
"Tell me more."
"Georgia..."
Georgia held her hand up, silencing Hailey. "It's my turn with the question. What do you see in Rachel?"
Hailey felt the heat rise to her face as she let out a scoff. "Um, I don't even know where to start. First of all," She folded her hands in her lap. "She will do anything in her power to make sure I'm okay. Like, this one time in, like, fourth grade, Kyle said some rude shit to me, and Rachel told on him." She chuckled.
