As the group continued to walk, they realized how far away from Hailey and Goergia they actually were. "Why can't we fly there again?" Kyle asked, the others complaining about their feet hurting. "Can't Rachel just get us there with her powers?"
"It's too much of a risk." Beatrice said. "I've said that about five times in the past two days. People know who I am." She spoke in a low, threatening voice.
Racel rolled her eyes, stopping and turning to Beatrice. "Either you show me how we can get there with my powers, or we're taking a plane."
Beatrice scoffed and walked past Rachel, brushing her shoulder in the process. Rachel watched as she walked away, completely ignoring her. Rachel glared into her back and, before she knew it, Beatrice was face-to-face with her again. The old woman smirked. "You really are more powerful than anyone I know." She muttered.
Rachel's glare deepened as she stepped towards the woman. "What's it going to be?" Her voice dropped a few octaves, Shawn could swear it did.
He looked at Fredrick, who shrugged his shoulders. The boys watched as Rachel loosened her invisible grip on Beatrice, watching as she fell forward, catching herself. "Nearest airport is 3.5 miles. We keep walking, we can get there before night fall." Walking away as she spoke, Beatrice instructed the group to silently follow her. Fredrick, Nicolas, and Kyle walked ahead as Shawn grabbed Rachel's wrist, making her stumble back.
"Hey, um," He started. "So, I've been thinking." Rachel hummed, staring up at him in confusion. "After graduation, we should all move in together." He said quietly.
His sister blinked. "That's not what you wanted to say, huh?"
'No.' "Uh, yeah! It is." He lied.
Rachel cringed. "Um,"
'Does she know?' He asked himself.
'Maybe?' Shawn looked at her. 'Oh my God, can I speak in people's minds?'
'And you can read them, apparently. You can probably see what I actually wanted to tell you.'
"Shawn, Rach! You guys coming, or no?" Fredrick yelled, walking in their direction. His dark red hair seemed to glow under the sun. 'Why does he look so-'
'Oh my God! You like him!'
Shawn looked at Rachel, panic filling his eyes. 'Why does Shawn look like he's gonna shit his pants?'
Rachel laughed to herself, looking at the boys. "Oh, I am going to have so much fun with this!" She said to herself, making the two boys gulp in fear. "You guys are all in for a treat because I just found out I can read and speak through people's minds!"
'Shit, she probably heard me think that!' Rachel heard Shawn think. 'Will she tell Fredrick? Wait, does she know I like boys? Wait, are you reading my mind right now?'
"Yup." Rachel answered his question out loud. She skipped up to the group, leaving the two boys alone by themselves.
Fredrick blinked. "I hate her." He said out loud.
"Yep."
After walking for almost two hours, the group spotted lights. Sighing with relief, Beatrice stopped them from walking. "Rachel, you're the only one who can tell if someone's a Shadowing or not. When we get in there, you need to try and get a look at everyone."
