Kate's POV
"This is such a great party; and Kate happy birthday",said a girl from Kate's school.

Kate walked into her house hoping she wouldn't catch someone trying to get in someone's else's pants. Surprisingly she didnt so she went into the kitchen and got more cups for the pop.

Merissa where are you. The party started 30 minutes ago.

I'm sorry Kate I got cought up with traffic on the way down from work ill be there in 10 minutes.

She started to go outside until she saw a person who caught her eye at the front door.

"Matt, hi thanks for coming",she said while trying not to stutter.

"Thanks for inviting me. Wow this is a great party. Have you gotten what you wanted for you birthday?"

"Now I have."

They walked out back to Kate's backyard. She might have not of had lots of money and a big house but she had a huge backyard and a overview of a lake.

Kate went over to get Matt a drink but he stopped her and handed her an object.

"What is this?"

"A little gift for the birthday girl."

"What is it?"

"Open it and find out."

It was Kate's birthstone attached to a charm bracelet.

"Matt this is so beautiful. Thank you."

She leaned in for a hug but then Merissa jumped right infront of them.

"Hey Kate great party. Happy birthday! Oh and hey Matt you made it. Well got to go, you guys have fun over here."

2 hours later

"Ok bye everyone, thanks for coming."

She closed the door and went into the family room where Matt was waiting for her.

"I'm back."

"I'm here."

They sat there on the couch in silence looking at eachother.

"Look Kate we have been talking, texting, and hanging out with eachother for a month now but I don't want to be friends anymore."

Kate sat there blankly having all these questions and emotions swirling in her brain.

"I want to be more than friends", said Matt.

Kate immediately started blushing and looked away but Matt caught her chin and he leaned in for a kiss.

"You should probably get going. I have to clean all of this up before my parents get home tomorrow. I'll drive you home."

She got up and Matt followed. He seemed confused, nervous, and embarrassed. But the problem was that Kate did like him but she didnt want to kiss him.

"Bye Matt thank you so much for coming and for my present."

She kissed him on the cheek and he got out of the car. While she was driving she passed by a dark alley. She got out of the car because she saw someone passed out in the back of it.

"Excuse me are you ok miss?"

"What, where am I?"

"Samara your alive!"
