The Unwanted Mate: The Bond

Chapter 17:

Andrea POV:

A week ago:
"FOCUS! You little bitch!" Victor shouts at the amplifier, but then she falls to the ground. "Get up! Get up you stupid cunt!" He shouts and kick her in the stomach repeatedly.

"Victor stop! She won't be able to continue if you kill her!" I kneel down next to her and shake her a bit trying to wake her up but she doesn't respond. I squeeze her hand but again no reaction. Did she die? We did try a very demanding spell. I try to find a pulse and when I can't find any I start a spell trying to make her heal. But I doesn't take. I have never failed this spell! Why won't it work?! "She's dying" I state.

"What are we going to do? We need her to finish the spell?" Alexa says and looks at Tom. "We have to wait until we get home and then use another amplifier. We just have to lie at the hearing today and say that the protection spell is working" Victor says dryly.

"Wolfs has a way of knowing when people are lying, you know that" Tom says as he paces around the room. "We just have to be convincing. Leave the talking to me. Stupid little.." "And what will we do if she dies here? We need to get her home. We can't loose her power. She has to be buried at home where we can harvest the power of her spirit" I interrupt. It would be a disaster if we lost any power! "We need to get some help keeping her stabilized until she is home" I say and hurry out the door.

I run down the hall and when I see a man walking past I shout "Help! We need a doctor!" I wave him over trying to get him to follow me "We need a doctor"

He starts running towards me, so I make my way back to Tom and Alexa's room.

The man rushes to the girl and kneel down next to her. He looks scared but why would he care for girl he doesn't know? And then a simple working girl of lowest rank?

"We don't want to create a fuss with our little problems. We send her home with a driver and then they take care of her at home" Victor says and moves towards the girl. A vicious growl ripples through his chest and Victor back away immediately. What is happening? What is wrong with him? How dare he growl like that! A dog with no manners!

The Alpha, Luna and two men enter the room. "Oh no" Luna Marry says. One of the men kneel down beside the girl but once again the man growl. "Marc release her and let the doctor see her. You know he's not hurting her" The Alpha commands and after a few seconds he loosen his grip on her.

"She needs adrenaline. We need to get her down to the clinic so we can monitor her and examin her properly" says the man who apparently is there doctor.

The other man lifts her up and walk out with her, the doctor and Luna fallowing him closely.

"Alpha he simply need to get her home. We can take care of her ourselves" Victor says.

"Why don't we let the doctor take a look at her and then we can talk about what's going to happen. Clearly she is in no condition to travel right now. Why don't we talk about this later? We can meet up before the meeting" The alpha says and Victor gives him a nod. Clearly Victor would have preferred not to have her treated. But we simply can't afford to loose any witch spirit no matter how insignificant the person is alive, the spirit belongs to the coven! If she dies and doesn't get buried fast, the power of the spirit will fade.

After a while the Alpha, Luna and the man who carried out the girl is back.

"She is in bad shape. She needs rest and care but the doctor says that she will be okay" Alpha Leon says.

"Good. Then we will send her home to rest" Victor says with a smile that is clearly fake.

"Actually we would like for her to stay here with us for a while. You see Marc here has recognized her as his mate. Therefore we would like her to stay whilst we figure out how to undo the bond" Alfa Leon holds a great power that seems to radiate from him at all times.

"I don't understand. A mate? She isn't a wolf? She is a witch. We don't have mates" Tom says with a puzzled look on his face. But I have never heard of a witch and a wolf being mates before either.

"It's quite uncommon yes. But it's not impossible. The separation of the two would cause them pain so we hope for her to stay here. We will try to find a way to break the bond without hurting either one of them. We will take good care of her of course," Luna Marry says and looks at the man who came in with them "Marc is our best warrior and she will stay at his house under his protection"

"She is an important part of carrying out our spells. So we take the chance and take her home. We may be able to cover the pain with some herbs" Victor says

"So you are saying you coven being able to do spells depend on a single girl? A small and exhausted girl I might add. If that is the case then we can't vote in your favor tonight. Your coven is simply too vulnerable then. Not to mention that you would also cause pain to my warrior" Aloha says with a daring look on his face.

"Of course not. We can manage without her. And we would be more than happy to let her stay here, showing that we take part in helping each other. But obviously we wouldn't leave her here if we get voted out. We can't have a coven member in a pack that we don't have an alliance with. I'm sure you can understand" Victor says and smiles not giving in to the power of the Alpha.

"I see. We will vote in your favor if the girl can stay whilst we figure this thing out" The Alpha reaches out a hand for Victor to shake and Victor accepts.

Today:
"They still haven't found a way to break the damn thing. The longer she stays the bigger the chance is that she will ruin everything. She will poison the minds of the coven when she returns. Telling them about the things she has seen, the things she has experienced, the freedom she has had a taste of now. Some of the lower ranking members has already been talking about how the wolfs can't be to dangerous if the girl can survive there for so long. They will start questioning everything they know" Tom paces around the room in pure frustration.

"Then we make sure they find out just how dangerous the wolfs actually are. When she returns we kill her and then tell everyone that the wolfs did it. That they have invaded the woods surrounding the coven and that they need to stay here otherwise the wolfs will kill them as well. Then at the next full moon we make a new amplifier" Victor says dryly. It's a great plan.

"Maybe kill a few of the elder people that has no use as well and say that them went into the woods and got killed. That way we make sure that they fear the wolfs and we don't have to waste money or goods on them" I add.
