Sleep never came so easily to (Y/N), it being months since she's slept in an actual bed. Snoring while being buried in a bunch of pillows and fluffy blankets, (Y/N) could describe her night there as sleeping on a cloud. This must be how Anne felt sleeping in my house the first night.
The sound of loud violent knocking was heard, alarming (Y/N) she jumped out of bed. Her foot gets caught in the blanket making her tumble to the floor. The door opened revealing Steve who was holding two cups, one filled with a green substance, and another filled with a purple. "Hey, you," Steve spoke softly as the girl got up. "I know I asked you to knock before entering but why did you choose to do it in the most aggressive way possible," Steve apologized handing the purple drink to the grumpy teen.
"I shredded a pumpkin to get that juice out took a while though," (Y/N) took a large gulp from the sweet drink. It's been a while since she's had anything, not mushroom or vegetable related. Her taste buds are completely dead from the lack of extremely sugared American treats. Steve doing the same with his coffee but taking a more normal and slower number of slips. She halted after being halfway done.
"Wait why," (Y/N) asked suspicious of the sudden threat. Steve doesn't usually do random acts of kindness. (Y/N) does think of him as a good person but not as noble enough to do hard work randomly. "I just want you to enjoy your moments with me for no other reason" He then walked away closing the door leaving the poor girl confused and overthinking with a cup of freshly squeezed juice made by an old frog.
(Y/N) took a last gulp of the juice taking it all in at once before changing into her regular clothing. When she got out of her room, she saw that Steve was sitting on the couch drinking his coffee while staring ahead into nothing.
I wonder what's got him thinking so hard
"So whatcha' doin' there Stevie," once heard her voice he jumped a bit. He looked at her before saying in a tired voice, "Anne and the Plantars are at the Farmer's Market I'm thinking of joining later to get us more food supply"
"A Farmer's Market" (Y/N) gasped loudly with her hands on both her cheeks her eyes widen in delight. "OH, MY FROGS I've always wanted to go to one"
(Y/N) remembers her dad telling her that she would be wasting his and her time by going to one. "The food not being up to our stomach's standard" and that it would kill them.
Surprise, surprise father I've been eating bugs and random food in amphibia and only got sick once.
"If you want to wait until I finish my coffee we can go," Steve then proceeded to take a slow sip of coffee. (Y/N) watched horrified at the amount of patience she would have to have to meet with the Plantars. She pouted, crossing her arms before throwing herself on the couch. It squeaked from the sudden impact and Steve almost spilled the coffee before catching it and glaring at the girl. She gave a nervous laugh before quietly apologizing.
It only took around ten minutes for Steve to finish his coffee as well as his refill. But (Y/N) felt like it took around an hour, having to deal with silence except for the occasional loud sips Steve would take. Every time she tried to make conversation, he would just hold a single finger in the air, signally her to not speak until after he finished the coffee.
(Y/N) was walking with Steve, who oddly but unquestionably, wore his hood over his head covering some of his face, until she spotted her curly-headed only human friend in the distance. (Y/N) got her fair share of judgmental stares but ignored them, believing that they were meant for Steve, which was semi-true. Anne was standing next to Hop Pop who was reading a piece of paper that he got from a fancy-looking tiny frog. "Hey Anne," (Y/N) shouted but flinched at the sudden and loud "Say what?" from Hop Pop. (Y/N) heard the commotion go around all the frogs complaining about the increase in rent as she got closer to Anne. Steve watched as she laughed while longingly hugging Anne, looking away sad at the thought of losing the human girl. He stepped to the side and went to a nearby stand looking through the newer options to take back home.
