Childhood (Y/N) Flashback:
It was a normal day for the two girls as they played in an office room (Y/N)'s father turned into a playroom for the two girls. Marcy was wearing overalls with a pale collared shirt underneath; she had blue Crocs and grey knee-lengthen socks. Her hair was out with one ponytail on the top of her head, and pink, green, and pink colored ball scrunchie accompanied her ponytail.
(Y/N) envied Marcy's casual and light colors as she wore a brown collared dress with a small frog sewed to the bottom and a row of green gems surrounding the end of her sleeves. She had her hair in pigtails golden letter of 'N' on one tail and another of 'W' on the other to signify her family's initials.
(Y/N) was putting together a puzzle while Marcy was reading a book about aircraft. Marcy would frequently look up from the book to retell the information she gained to (Y/N). And (Y/N) would repeatedly stop working on the puzzle to listen to Marcy, sometimes Marcy would say words she didn't know but that didn't stop her from asking. This happened throughout most playdates, but today was different. One of the new floor workers came into the room, "Marcy it's time to go" This deep voice caused the girls to turn their attention to them. (Y/N) stared confused as to why Marcy was packing her books, "Wait where are you going?"
Marcy paused turning to the girl her eyes widen realizing that (Y/N) was in the dark as to what was planned. "Anne's dad is going to take me to the park"
(Y/N)'s eyebrows twitched at the mention of Anne, or should she say friend thief; Who's Anne? Why does Marcy want to go to her park, mine is better though...right?
"Do you not like it here? I'll add more books to the shelf if you want," (Y/N) suggested. Trying harder to think of more things that'll keep her from leaving.
Marcy shook her head frantically, "No, no, I like it here. I just promised Anne that I was going to play with her"
"If you want you should come and we could all play together," Marcy adjusted her bag over her, before reaching her hand for the girl to grab. (Y/N) got up stepping on a few puzzle pieces out of excitement as she grabbed Marcy's tiny hand, she was internally cheering, a giant smile plastered on her face. (Y/N) nodded at the idea of not only getting to hang out with Marcy more but also getting the chance to scoop out the competition. I doubt her park is better than mine.
The two girls followed the worker who led them to the entrance of the building. The closer they got to the front, (Y/N) could see a little girl standing next to her dad through the glass entrance door. The little girl was wearing a purple and white striped shirt with dark purple shorts. Her hair was big and puffy which weirdly amazed me (Y/N).
Before they were even outside, (Y/N) felt the warmth on her hands leave. The friend stealer ran up to Marcy, throwing herself in a hug while shrieking in excitement. Anne and Marcy giggled as they hugged one another. (Y/N) watched in shock at the public display of affection, she didn't know why she felt angry at their happiness.
"Hey!" she shouted causing the girls to pause from giggling and turn to her. "What do you think you're doing to my Marcy, let her go" Her misleading comment caused the worker and Mr. Boonchuy to raise an eyebrow before going back to their conversation.
Anne and Marcy separated Anne, walking with a cheery smile to (Y/N). "Oh, sorry hi I'm Anne," she put her hand out for (Y/N) to shake.
(Y/N) eyed the girl's hand before turning to Marcy who was giving (Y/N) an awkward smile, sighing she shook it. "I'm (Y/N)"
"Yeah, I already know that Marcy talks a lot about you," Anne grinned at the girl, (Y/N) smiled back feeling her walls fall. "Girls let's go," Anne's dad calls out as the girls right away start following after him.
