16) S T R E N G T H

Joesph gave orders to the crew to stay in the cockpit along with Annie. You had calmed down a little but still felt nauseously sick.

"Hey y/n" it was a while someone had really said your name and when kakyoin said it, it felt safe, sweet, and gentle.

You had to look up at him due to the height difference causing him to give a little smile. Him smiling made you smile and you couldn't help but forget about what had just happened.

It was a nice distraction.

Jotaros POV

"Hey y/n" kakyoin had said softly. In almost an instant you looked up at him causing him to smile.

....

Yare yare.

then you smiled.

Not anger but resentment. I felt resentment and a lot of it.

"Am i interrupting something."

You looked away from kakyoin to Jotaro. You wanted to hug him so bad, you needed your friend.

He had always said you had big stupid eyes.

After a moment of you two just looking at eachother in hopes someone would say something, he spoke up, "I want you to go with the sailors, it isn't safe."

You looked down and then up at him ready to protest. Until you saw his body change as he was ready to argue with you. This scared you a bit as your legs were still shaking from all the adrenaline. With that you lowered your head and walked away.

You faintly heard the boys start to argue.

As you walked ahead you looked back to see Annie at the doorframe of the cockpit looking towards the crusaders. Joesph approached her and told her it's best if she stays with you so she can remain safe.

In little time the girl jumped on your arm and started small conversation. You wanted to go back to the monkey to investigate. ' why were you so eager for me to see this labyrinth' but your mind didn't answer back.

Annie approached the gate so you decided to stand back and observe. The monkey reached out his hand and lifted it up towards the gate lock.
Annie explained she didn't know where the key was causing the Ape to hand her an apple. Freshly cut.

Weird.

You approached the gate, eyeing it down. For some reason this monkey has the intelligence to understand English, "How could you have half a slice of an apple without it being brown, who could have cut this for you ?"

You squatted down and put your arms on your legs, hm. Annie walked a little bit ahead of you and came up with the idea that there really must be someone on the ship. You felt as this was going no where. You guys were humans talking to animal as if it could talk back.

You rolled you eyes and scoffed about to speak until the orangutan pulled out a match and lit a cigarette. "What the-"

"Woah you're a pretty smart monkey who taught you to do that!?" Annie was curious, too curious.
Your gut feeling was telling you to get her out of here, "Hey Annie go to where the other sailors are and stay with them, I'll make my way back to you."

Without protest but just skepticism Annie left.

You walked towards the monkey but kept your distance. You wouldn't get any closer to that thing. You put up a defensive stand ready to attack if these gates fell through as the monkey went to reach for something.

Squinting you saw him pull out a playboy magazine, "EW GROSS A MONKEY LIKE YOU IS INTERESTED AT LOOKING AT- " you just swallowed and shuddered, holding onto your shirt just a little tighter.
