They say this string can bend and twist, yet never break. I find it interesting that a string so thin can be so durable. Just a small knot around my left pinky finger. I wonder whose at the end of my string? Do they have blonde, red, brown, black hair. Who knows, maybe it's a mix of colours? What about their eye colour? Skin tone? Their ethnicity? Or the texture of their hair? Is it curly, wavy, straight.

"Crainer."

"Huh."

"You okay?"

"Yeah, I'm just thinking again. Thanks Jelly."

"Is it about the string?"

I look over at him. His brown hair tousled to a mop as if he just woke. Which he probably did, since he tends to sleep in. Jelly's face stretches, so I take the opportunity to talk, before he can say anything else.

"Yes, I was. Why?"

"I was thinking the same. That's all."

"Were you dreaming it too?"

"Yeah, it was about this girl with blonde hair." Jelly replies back, while giving his head a scratch. "Would about you? Is there a hot girl in your dreams?"

I tried my best not to flinch or show any physical sign, but on the inside I was screaming. I know he's my best friend, but I'm so worried that he'd see me differently and start to treat me different too.

"You okay? You're bouncing your foot again."

I nod. "Yup." At least as good as I can get. How do I tell him? Should I even say? I feel like I should, yet at the same time I don't want to. This is frustrating. You know what, I'm just going to say it. Get it out and off my chest. One, two, three...

"Jelly?"

"Yeah."

"There's something I want to tell you."

"What's wrong?" He concerns. Clearly hearing how nervous I am.

"I'm...I'm p-p-pa..." why is this so hard? why doesn't my mouth make words?!

"You're what?"

"I'm pa—pathetic."

All he did was laugh as I bang my head accidentally on the table. Ow. Why am I making this so hard on myself? I wish there was a way I could show him, but how?

"You sure you're alright?"

I hold a thumbs up as I continue to think. Maybe I could write a note? Or leave a drawing of the flag? Wear a shirt with a pun? Or maybe..."That could work."

"What could work?"

"How would you like to go on an adventure?"

"That sounds fun. I'm in."

"Great. Let's go." I say, getting up from the table.

"Right now?"

"Yep."

"Without a car, food, water, and no survival skills?"

"Seems about right."

Jelly shrugs with a roll of his eyes, before putting on his shoes. Then walking out, shutting the door behind us. A few minutes later Jelly pipes up, breaking the silence.

"Where are we going?"

"I'll tell you soon." I reply. He stops walking. Probably to guess where I am taking him.

"Why are you being so mysterious all of a sudden. You're usually so forward and obvious." Guess I was mistaken.

"I just think that showing you would be better than telling."
