Shallow breaths leave his parched mouth...

Messy light brown hair falling over his green eyes...

Body shaking with chills of sweat...

That's how most nights were—Painful, long, and rest-less.

His eyes shift round the room. Scanning over every dark corner. Towards the door and the closet. Still shut. It eases his panic slightly and he turns to see the sliding door. The moon glistening through the crack in the curtains, casting eerie shadows to dance upon the walls. Feeling his heart start to quicken he takes a deep breath, counting to four then backwards as exhaling.

Everything is fine now.

In his mind, a light flicks on and he turns to see a worried look plastered on her tan skin.

"Love?" A simple low hum emerges from his throat, she doesn't reply and instead opens her arms.

A soft hand combing through his hair. The rhythmic beat in her chest lulling him to peace. Her cool skin meeting a heated one. Not caring how hot and sweaty he was—just wanting to make him feel comfortable.

"Oh, Crainer. I'm so sorry you have to deal with this." Brushing the hair from his forehead she kisses the area. Glancing at the clock on the side—hoping that he'll stay asleep for the rest of the night. The brunette shifts her lover's body to lie down, before switching the lamp off.

"Sleep well."

..I..

"This is stupid."

"No it's not. It's perfectly understandable. I don't even have someone to practice on...in fact, I only have mirror."

"Of course. And how's that going for you?"

"Well, I did say 'yes'. Now come on. Ask me the question."

"Fine. Just don't laugh at me this time. Okay, Jelly?"

"You know I can't promise that, right?"

"Just try your best."

Jelly nods and quips with an 'okay.' A silence falling over the two men, before a sigh could be heard from Crainer. His hand brushing through brown hair in an attempt to sooth his nerves.

"Will—Will you marry me."

"Hmm...ye-no."

"Oh, come on. You're suppose to help. Not make it harder."

"I'm just thinking of the possibilities. She could even end up saying maybe. Then what? And even if she says 'no' you can always find someone else."

"Like that's easier said than done."

His lips curl into an endearing smile. An exhale letting out a soft chuckle as he watches Jelly go on about different outcomes.
