Jerome, Flynn, and Alfie were sitting in Mrs. Andrews' class when Fabian and Nina came in, looking slightly disheveled. "You're late," Mrs.Andrews' says.
"Sorry," Nina and Fabian said in unison before they moved to their seats.
"Get to your places. We're about to start," she spoke once more. "Have either of you seen Patricia on your travels?" she asks.
"No," they spoke together.
"Right, she'll be getting an 'F' then. We will start the test." she says as she presses a button and the headphones began to emit a voice. All of the students began to take their French tests as the voice spoke to them.
Throughout the test, Mick had asked if Mrs. Andrews could replay the last question. She of course reminded him of the rules of the test.
The bell soon sounded and everyone took their headphones off and set them down in front of them. "Okay, time's up," Mrs. Andrews' spoke. Everyone stood and began to exit the room after handing in their assignment papers.
Classes were now completed for the day and the Anubis house residents had returned home, Flynn had finished her assignments and began reading a book on the couch. Jerome and Alfie were wrestling on the ground in the sitting room. While Mara was setting the table for supper. Fabian walked in and turned to Mara, "I thought Alfie and Jerome were on chores tonight?" he asked.
"No, it's my night. They're busy anyway," she says looking at the boys who were continuing to wrestle.
"Yeah really busy," he says before going to Nina.
"Don't you do anything other than work?" Patricia questions looking at Nina.
"Yeah. I've gotta cut back on that I mean, what is this, A school...?" Nina retorts.
"Patricia just get a life," Fabian says.
Fabian then whispered to Nina and the two left the room. Flynn shortly after decided that since supper was nearly ready she should return her book to her room.
As Flynn headed up the stairs, she saw Fabian and Nina inspecting the banister. She rolled her eyes at the two and continued on her way up the stairs. That night had been rather uneventful. The three girls headed to bed as usual, but as Flynn was drifting into sleep she heard the bedroom door open. She didn't think much of it and just rolled back over and slipped into unconsciousness.
Flynn had an extremely vivid dream one that she wished she would never have to relive.
Dream*****
Flynn was in the back seat of her parent's vehicle. Her younger brother Fletcher sat next to her. The two were about a year and a half apart in age. Though when most people would meet the two they would first assume that they were twins. Both of them took after their father's looks. Their father had light skin with deep brown hair, his eyes were Blue and he was tall in stature.
The only other physical difference between the siblings, other than the small height difference, was that Fletcher's eyes were blue like his father's, while Flynn's were green like her mother's. The family was on their way home from their grandparent's house, it was the winter holiday of 2008, and they had just finished a celebratory party for the New Year. Flynn had told her family of the amazing first term she had while at Anum Academy, Fletcher would be starting there the following fall. Flynn sat unable to change what was happening, in a normal dream if she would think about something different the image in front of her would change. Though this time no matter how many different times she tried to change the images they wouldn't. She knew what was coming next her father would round the corner of a tight bend that was quickly approaching. Fletcher had taken off his seatbelt to get something from the back seat and hadn't put it back on. So, when they would round the corner she would be protected but Fletcher would have nothing to keep him safe. Flynn turned to her brother and began to beg him to put his seatbelt back on, but of course, he didn't listen. Michael was driving and was coming around a tight curve on the street, it was going to happen soon. The snow had been falling for a few hours now making the roads slick. Flynn turned to Fletcher knowing she didn't have long, "Please, you have to know, I love, you," she says with her eyes glistening from tears that were threatening to spill over. "I'm sorry," she said as a car horn was heard blaring from in front of them. Flynn braced against the seat in front of her, the car began to flip, and it finally stopped moving and Flynn was hanging upside down in the car. Her seatbelt was the only thing keeping her where she was. Emily and Michael were both unconscious in the front seat, Flynn looked to the side and saw her brother laying on the ceiling of the car not moving, his neck was bent at an unnatural angle and he had blood beginning to seep from his ears. His eyes were open and his gaze was staring through her. Flynn closed her eyes trying to get the image of her brother's body out of her head, to no avail.
It was then, that a loud shrieking noise was heard throughout the house. Flynn woke with a start, sitting up in bed, she had a tear falling down her cheek. Flynn quickly wiped it away before looking around her room and saw that Amber was also sitting up slightly in her bed. Flynn also noticed that Nina was nowhere to be seen. Amber shook her head and laid back down and tried to fall back asleep.
Flynn on the other hand knew she wasn't going to be able to sleep again tonight. So the young girl scootched herself backward so that she was sitting against the headboard of her bed. She pulled her legs into her chest and let her head lul to the side as she looked out of the window. She would never forget his face, his eyes, nothing about that day would ever be able to be scrubbed from her mind. That was one of the worst parts, he was gone but she would never forget.
