Coincidentally, Jack and Jack were throwing one of the biggest parties of the year tonight. They were infamous for their out-of-control ragers; they might have been even more well-known than Sammy in this aspect. Tonight was their "party of the year", which they threw annually. And now that they were out of high school, I knew that they planned to make this the biggest one yet. Being old enough to be in college certainly had its advantages, apparently, so there would be more drugs and drinking than ever. They had even discussed hiring a DJ just for the event.
It only took about twenty minutes to get ready for the party. I had showered this morning, and there was no need to do that if there was the possibility of me getting absolutely trashed at the party. I decided to slip on a pair of sleek black high-waisted jeans and a black crop top with gold accents that perfectly matched the three buttons that were lined down the center of the pants. I convinced Shawn to remain in his black t-shirt and jeans even though he insisted on running home to grab a flannel real quick. Truthfully, I just loved being able to admire his arms. And I knew that other girls at the party would be, too, which was perfect. I wanted to show Nash and his friends what they were missing out on by rejecting him. After touching up my light smoky-eye look and looking in the mirror just to be sure it looked alright with my green eyes, I shuffled down the stairs. I pretended not to notice Shawn's deep chocolate eyes scanning my body as I reached the floor.
"You ready?" I questioned enthusiastically, heading towards the door. He slightly lagged behind while my thumbs busily typed a message to my mom about my plans for the evening.
"As ready as I'll ever be, I guess," he announced shakily. I let out a relaxed laugh, still looking down at my phone as I slowly swung the door open.
"It'll be great, I promise. Jack and Jack are chill A.F.," I promised, immediately evoking a slight chuckle from him.
"A.F.? Is it really that hard to just say 'as fuck'?" he teased. I repressed the urge to smack him in the arm, telling myself that I'd done that too much lately. The poor dude probably had a bruise forming on his bicep just because of me.
"Oh, shut up!" I giggled while I typed in the Jacks' address on my phone, suddenly realizing that I still hadn't been to their new place. I stepped outside, taking in the sunset as I made my way to Shawn's truck.
"Never," he joked, shooting me one of those to-die-for smirks.
"C'mon, Mendes. Let's go have some fun."

Upon arrival, I immediately gaped up at Jack and Jack's new home. I knew they had been getting popular on social media or whatever, but I didn't know that they could afford a full-fledged two story home. When they said "new place", I pictured an apartment or a townhouse. This was so much better.
"This is where your friends live? Your teenage friends?" Shawn inquired, blinking hard as he looked up at the building with me. It was almost like he couldn't believe his eyes, but that was okay, because I really couldn't, either. These lucky little shits.
"Uh, yeah.." I paused, laughing nervously. "I guess it is." I began to make my way up the steps to the front porch with Shawn following, but before we even made it halfway up the stairs, the front door flew open, releasing the sound of the loud music that was playing inside.
"Audrey!" Jack Gilinsky screamed. Considering I was paying attention to just about everything except for the front door at the time, the sudden loud noise startled me. I jumped a little, and I would've fallen back down the steps, but Shawn's hands urgently grasped around my waist to prevent that from happening. I looked back at him and smiled, gently taking his hands from my hips. Thank God for this boy.
