UA had been silent, the air filled with a mute caution. The first years were in various states of shock--their friends were being booted out of UA temporarily.
Their classes were being split.
Their classmates could be traitors.
The Hero Commission was considered absolute in Japan. They took things even normal heroes couldn't accomplish, and they worked efficiently. No one knew of their methods--at least not the general public. Yet it was obvious that once the Commission was put on a case, they would indeed finish it in record time.
And they were never wrong. Never once had the Commission failed. As top dog of the societal hero hierarchy, there was no possible way they could fail.
Mina and Uraraka didn't know how to feel. They had been close with both Midoriya and Aoyama. Heck, even Shoji was around often because the group loved to get together for late night board games. Currently, the two girls sat on the couch next to each other, basking in their classmates' company.
Sero was helping an tired Mineta up the stairs while Momo aided Kaminari. The two were so exhausted and uncomprehending that they couldn't function, especially after the Commission's announcement.
Jiro was sitting in a stray bean-bag that had been placed in the corner of the Common Room. Her analyzing eyes were hooked on one of Class 1A's most exuberant classmates. Katsuki Bakugo was oddly silent, his eyes were wide yet brows furrowed ever so slightly. His bottom lip was red from where he had previously been biting it. Jiro could tell the blonde seemed to be experiencing a vast amount of emotions.
Nervousness. Confusion. Even regret–to a small percentage. His facial expression, for the first time since the beginning of the school year, was left unguarded and open for all to see.
But Jiro was the only one who did.
But even she didn't fully understand his inner turmoil about the situation.
Ojiro, Koda, and Tsu were sitting on the floor together. Their proximity was close as they tried to get their minds off the sudden turn of events.
Sato, Tokoyami, and Mina were in the kitchen. Tokoyami was going to grab a nearly illegal energy drink--one that had borderline heart attack inducing amounts of caffeine--to sip on. Mina was craving sweets and Sato was itching to bake. Silently, the three worked around each other.
Iida and Todoroki were speaking near the elevators. Iida was attempting to calm the stoic teen down even though Todoroki was just blankly staring at the bluenette. He chose to just stand there as Iida practically calmed himself down from a mental breakdown.
Once finished, Todoroki deemed a simple nod fitting and walked off to his room. He was going to go ahead and pack.
He had mixed feelings regarding the whole situation. On one hand, he wouldn't have to go visit his father over the weekend and that was phenomenal. On the other hand, he had heard a plethora of negative news about the Hero Commission, and he was less than enthusiastic to get roped into their plans.
But he didn't have to see his dad.
Unless Endeavor somehow pulled him from the Hero Commission's plans via Hero Status. But even that would be hard considering all heros were forced to listen to the Commission above all else.
Todoroki let out a sigh. He would just let himself enjoy the company of his friends that were also going...while ignoring his father.
The first twenty four hours went by fast, everyone in their own worlds as they cope with the situation. It wasn't until Aizawa, Midnight and Snipe walked into Class 1A's dorms that the rest of the class broke from their despondent states.
Aizawa sighed, seeing only a handful of students in the Common room. He ran a shaking hand through his hair. "Can someone go grab Todoroki, Midoriya, Shoji and Aoyama?" He asked, voice thick with exhaustion.
Momo, who had been cuddled up next to an asleep Uraraka and Mina, slowly got up from her spot on the couch, readjusted the blankets around the two other teens, and nodded to the group of teachers before leaving.
Midnight patted Aizawa on the back, hand resting on his stiff shoulder and messaging it slightly. "You sure you can look after the class?" She asked, directing her question to Snipe.
"Yeah," he whispered, "I'll take care of your students." He took in a breath, looking around the room.
Suddenly Iida exited the elevator and Snipe made his way towards the Class President. He needed to have a quick conversation with the teen.
Aizawa and Midnight were left waiting. A few moments later, Momo came back down with the four students.
"Thank you." Came the deep, thin voice of their tired teacher.
Momo sadly glanced at her teacher before nodding and mutely walking back to the couch.
Aizawa watched her leave with bloodshot eyes before turning to the equally exhausted teenagers before him. He sighed before putting a hand on Shoji's shoulder and squeezing the despondent looking teen.
"Come with me. It's important you hear this." He said, slowly, making sure everyone held eye contact for a few seconds before he looked away.
He could feel Midnight's worried gaze sweep over him even as he walked off.
The four students followed after Aizawa with minimal hesitation. Midnight was the last out the door so she could make sure no one else followed or got left behind. The next few hours would be important, especially since the kids had less than twenty four until they were transported.
Midnight noticed Midoriya kept stumbling over his own feet worse than normal. It was as if one of his legs were dragging on the ground while the other one attempted to walk at a faster pace than he physically could handle at the moment. Quickly, Midnight assessed his limp as he stumbled once more.
Just as she was about to step forward to help, Aoyama grabbed Midoriya's wrist and made the greenette wrap his arm around the blonde's shoulder. Now the freckled teen was forced to lean on Aoyama.
Midnight ignored Midoriya's jumbled protests and gave the teen a more thorough once over.
Has…Midoriya lost weight?
He was by no means ever overweight or underweight when first starting UA. But as a younger teen, he had still had a slight childlike pudge, as most children do until their late teens and early twenties.
Heck, Aizawa still had round cheeks until second year and even then they were still not fully gone.
But Midoriya looked like he had not only slimmed down in his face but also in musculature.
His childlike found cheeks were flat, almost inwardly so and his muscles seemed more lean--smaller and less defined. Almost as if they were deteriorating.
But Midnight knew for a fact the kid had not given up on becoming a hero nor did he lessen his training. He never gave less than his all.
But maybe that was the problem…
Midnight made a mental note to bring up her concerns with Aizawa and maybe Vlad for a second opinion.
In the meantime, she quietly stayed close to the two teens leaning on each other just in case Midoriya stumbled backwards.
