The day went by ridiculously fast and soon it was time for the Hero Commission to come in, explain and announce groups. Class 1-A was experiencing extreme amounts of anxiety. Afterall, they thought the UA traitor idea was faux, that it was simply a ruse the villains put out to scare them into walking on feathers. But now it seemed so real...so near.
Anyone could be a traitor.
Anyone could be framed.
They did not feel safe whatsoever.
But quite a few also felt hints of betrayal. The class was very close, one of the closest in UA Hero Course history. 1-A did more activities together than previous years, so they all felt a gravitational pull to each other. They all felt at home with each other.
But someone in their very tight knit family might be a traitor. And it made their hairs stand up on end.
The Commission leader did not in fact show up, rather a random worker discussed the upcoming events extremely vaguely. The man was balding, his face was old and he had a condescending air that permitted around him. His physique was pudgy and his words were guarded. He ensured he did not go into detail about anything, nor did he ever look anyone directly in the eyes.
The first group of students remained unnamed the whole time and so did the speaker, saying his name was "not needed as I am only a messenger." The seemingly random set of rules were nothing new, since Aizawa already discussed what was happening with their class. The man informed everyone that more information would be sent to Nezu as it is deemed needed.
The Commission seems so...secretive.
Finally the time had come. "So the first group of individuals includes the following--" The deep, slightly raspy voice called out. "Mei Hatsume, Hitoshi Shinso, Yui Kodai, Nirengeki Soda, Nieto Monoma, Ibara Shiozaki, Yuga Aoyama, Mezo Shoji, Izuku Midoriya, and Shoto Todoroki. I expect to see you ten next Friday." The man bowed to Nezu before turning on his heel and leaving the auditorium with his posse of guards.
Nezu stood still, contemplating why specifically those ten students were chosen.
They seemed to be at random. But then again almost all were part of the main fight at the end of the sports festival. That explains why the first two were chosen. The hero course students are definitely under scrutiny about being the alleged traitors, so the Commission is probably trying to find the traitor or prove them innocent before they move on with their Hero Careers. However everyone's personality seems to be either exuberant or diluted, could this be a reason? In some previous cases where a villain disguises as someone else, they are usually found to put on an over the top personality or a quiet, analyzing one. But then again some of the most exuberant personalities in each course have been left from the selection.
What is the Commission doing?
Nezu was confused, yet he still clapped his hands and spoke up. "Ah, so everyone is released to head back to the dorms, however I would entrust no one to pester the students which the Hero Commission has chosen to analyze first. They need time to think, just as everyone else does."
Slowly each class filed out, some students looking more distraught than others. And soon enough Nezu was alone with a couple teachers
"Their way of choosing the students is illogical and randomized." Aizawa spoke up, his gruff voice criticizing his higher ups.
"Indeed." Replied the principle, rubbing his head with his paw. "There seems to be no rhyme or reason, yet the Commission always ends up two steps in front of everyone. They have something planned, mock my words."
And it isn't going to end well.
