Namjoon had no recollection whatsoever of the placid aurora— that used to be his first sight upon waking up— ever since Nora had thrust her way into his apartment. Mornings without constant chanting of technical terms and unrealized list of evidences seemed more or less like a myth to him now. Even at the moment, the woman was frenetically traversing the living room, forcing her disagreements upon the evidently unfortunate caller regarding an issue that Namjoon had yet not been acquainted with.

"Is there a fucking loudspeaker installed in her throat?" Namjoon muttered groggily, tumbling around in his bed out of annoyance.

It was just a matter of time before he finally decided to resist Nora's painfully slow torture of jolting him from his slumber for days that he could not even count on his fingers anymore. Gone were the days when Namjoon would meekly submit to the atrocities of his guest. The extent of bloodthirst that a sleep-deprived man harbored must have definitely remained unexplored by the woman for her to provoke him until he snapped.

But now, she must face his fury. Encounter the same torment that she had inflicted upon Namjoon all this while.

"Son Nora!" Namjoon yelled from behind the door that led into his bedroom, drawing the attention of the addressed one without much effort.

"Oh, Namjoon. Good that you're awake. There's an emergency—" Nora started, but was interrupted by a fuming Namjoon.

"Just tell me, how many more days until you let me sleep peacefully?" Namjoon spiraling out of nowhere was certainly unanticipated by her, but Nora had her priorities fixed.

"Listen," Her voice was solemn, "an emergency situation has come up and we need to deal with it as soon as possible. It could be a standalone act, but then there exists this possibility as well, of severe consequences erupting from it if left unattended. So if you're done with your complaining, do you want me to fill you in now? We're already running short on time, Doc." She finished as she shoved her phone back into the pocket of her jeans.

The combination of the words that Nora employed for briefing him regarding the discovery that she had recently made, sounded ominous to Namjoon. It had a grisly ring to it, one that caused the male to shiver in dread once he unconsciously associated Youngmi's name with it. Even subliminally, it was Youngmi who had always occupied his thoughts. However, at the same time, no matter the contradiction of how badly he was ready to fall to his knees for her in the past, it was not justified to ponder about her when it was an ill-notion that drove him towards doing it.

Humans had been inclined towards making errors since the global inception— even grave ones— but that did not necessarily entail involving oneself in a loop of hatred against those who wronged them.

The world would have collapsed in on itself long back, then.

"Can I— can I ask you a question?" Namjoon hesitated, yet still proceeded to bare his mind before her.
