"Don't be like that, senior, please. At least hear me out once—"
"Has this been your plan all along, Namjoon? To antagonise Ewan and blindside me so that you could secretly work on your plan of sabotaging me and everything that I've earned? How could you stoop so low? How could you do this to me after winning my trust? How dare you hoodwink me, you douche!" Youngmi screeched, her shrill voice deafening the addressed male.
"Woah, I see there's a huge misunderstanding going on right now—"
It was as clear as day how Youngmi was no longer willing to hark to Namjoon's unabating manipulations— her beginning to laugh maniacally attested to that. Her attempts at interrupting his entreaties, however, implied much more than her faith in him simply ebbing away. A reminder flashed before her eyes, jeering at her gullibility that continued to remain intact despite the lessons that her past had taught her. How could she be so foolish after all that took place back then?
Youngmi drew in a deep breath, wiping off the trails of tears that had stained her cheeks. Her lips stretched into a bitter smile as she reluctantly prepared herself to confront Namjoon.
"If it hadn't been for Ewan informing me regarding a breach in the clinic's security system, I would've never been able to recognise your true intentions." Youngmi shuddered, "now leave before my temper gets the best of me." She added.
Of all the allegations and chagrin Youngmi had subjected Namjoon to, the one that compared him with that viper of a human named Ewan fanned the flames of fury in his heart like none other. Not only was that the vilest humiliation that he had to encounter in his lifespan, but somehow also was a source of unparalleled stupefaction for him.
Why in the world would Ewan alert Youngmi of her own clinic's condition? How was he able to cull that information?
"Ewan? How—"
"Because for some reason, I wasn't notified with an e-mail when you happened to break in. Though he received one, about which he immediately told me over phone. And that was when I ran into you lurking inside my chamber." Youngmi explained, to which Namjoon reacted with a discontented expression.
Youngmi was prompt to get the drift, for she picked up, "Now, before you ask how he managed to do that, I've let him in on my security system. Trusted the right person for the first time in my life, it seems."
Namjoon could not refrain from scoffing at the most risible statement that he had ever heard. Meanwhile, a new notion was also birthed at the back of his head, the unanticipated facts ensnaring him one by one as he simultaneously endeavored to chase them away. Nevertheless, him mulling over decrypting those vague concepts into coherent images were more or less inconsequential now. There was no way he could pull the strings in his favor anymore, for he had ended up augmenting Youngmi's virulence to manifold with his earlier, unsolicited reaction of deriding her confidence about Ewan.
