"I've heard about you....your family. You own so many hotels and different corporations." Miranda replied.
"Yes." Ben answered.
"And people are trying to kill you." She commented. "Why?" She asked.
"I can't tell you, like I said the less you know the better. I did not mean to get you tangled up in my mess. You seeing me was never apart of the plan. The only way to get back to your regular life Is to know nothing and cooperate with my commands."
"Cooperate with you. Who do you think you are? Tell me what is going on now!" She demanded.
"I would watch your tone with me" Ben barked not use to anyone speaking to him in this manner.
"Call whoever you need to call because I'm ready for you to be gone." She sneered walking back into the kitchen.
"Call this number and press 6. I'll give you the code to put in."
"The code to put in." Miranda gasped.
She grabbed her phone and waited for the number, dialing it, she pressed 6 and then it asked for the pass code.
"098567." Ben spoke.
Miranda entered it in and then handed him the phone.
"James. I've been hit, last night was a set up. I shouldn't have went alone." Ben spoke.
"Boss where are you?"
"I'm safe, this surgeon saved me and I'm with her now. I'm going to have her drive far out to our spot. Have a car meet us there."
"Okay boss I'll bring the men. We will meet you there."
"Okay I will give you further instructions upon arrival." Ben voiced and hung up.
"We are leaving."
"Hell no, You're a dead man walking."
"It wasn't a question....what's your name?"
"Miranda." She mumbled.
"Miranda I wasn't asking you. I was telling you. Get up, go put some clothes on now." Ben commanded as he slowly set up.
Miranda stood there challenging him. Ben raised his eyebrow at her. "Miranda....I'm not that kind of man that would ever hurt anybody. I wouldn't even hurt a fly. I kill to not be killed. I would never hurt a woman but you won't be satisfied until I change. I don't do well with stubbornness and disobedience. You are going to force me to show you who I can be." Ben gritted his nose flaring and his fist balled as he stood.
Miranda looked at him and when he stood she jumped back. "Okay.”
"What are you going to do?" Ben asked roughly.
"Put my clothes on and get ready to go." Miranda answered meekly.
Ben nodded as she turned to walk to the back. He would never lay a hand on her to hurt her but the thought quickly crossed his mind of wrapping his hand around her neck as he pounded into her unmercifully and he licked his lips at the thought before shaking his head.
Miranda threw on some jeans and a sweater. She tied her sneakers up and grabbed her purse and jacket.
Miranda found some of Tuckers old clothes left behind and she grabbed sweat pants and a long sleeve shirt.
"Here are some clothes." Miranda said handing it to him.
Ben took the pants and he sat down un zipping his jeans. Miranda turned her head and then snapped it back when he groaned.
"Here let me help you." Miranda voiced walking over.
She helped take his pants off and changed them into the sweat pants.
"Let me get you a bandage wrap." She voiced going to her first aid kit.
Ben watched as she came back and she started to wrap it around him. "How long have you been a surgeon?" Ben asked
"I just became an attending last year." Miranda replied.
"Who clothes are these?" Ben asked wanting to know if she had a man.
"Oh you can ask me all the questions but won't answer any of mine." Miranda remarked.
"Why do I have to repeat myself?" Ben asked.
"It's my Ex husband's."
"Ex husband. Who would divorce you?" Ben questioned shocked.
"He did. Our marriage reached a crossed roads. I went in one direction and he chose another." She explained shrugging her shoulders.
He watched as Miranda placed a black beanie on her head and a scarf around her neck.
She handed Ben a black Nike ball cap and a jacket.
"You ready?" She commented grabbing her keys. Ben put his gun in his pocket and handed her the other one.
"In your purse or jeans."
Miranda took a hold of it shakily and put it in her purse.
She moved the couch out of the way and unlocked her apartment before locking it up.
The two walked slowly, really careful to make sure he didn't hurt himself.
"Why is the car this far away?"
"Because I moved it last night. I didn't want anyone to find my car, recognize it and know where we were." Miranda explained and Ben nodded.
"You’re quick on your feet. I like that." Ben replied
"It's the doctor in me." She commented.
Miranda helped Ben in the car and she began to drive. They drove for 45 minutes until it was a dirt road. Miranda saw a black Suv and four men with black suits on and shades.
They came around to Ben's side of the car when she parked and helped him out. "You okay boss? I told you it was a bad idea and to bring the men along."
"I know that now James but it's no going back." Ben returned.
Miranda got out of the car and she tried to listen to their conversation but a lot of it was code words.
Ben talked with James and told him the whole situation. "What about the woman...what's the plan? We can't just let her go."
"I was thinking we could" Ben voiced.
"She knows and saw too much."
"She doesn't know anything." Ben replied.
"She knows your name and that you killed two people." James responded.
Ben sighed he was right. He couldn't just let her leave, ad least not without a security detail to make sure she doesn’t go to the police.
Ben stayed still trying to decide on something.
"And?" James questioned.
"It's what ever I fucking decide James." Ben glared at him irritated with all the questions.
"She goes with us." Ben answered.
Miranda gasped. "No please I just want to go back to my life."
"We can't have you running to tell the police now can we." David taunted crossing his arms.
"I won't tell what I saw I promise." Miranda assured him. She just wanted to put this whole thing behind her.
Ben looked at her sadly. He was going to go ahead and let her go but first he needed to get in contact with his lawyer to see if he could find out exactly what the police knew about last night. He needed to proceed with caution and figure out what was the best move.
"You're are coming with us love. It's for safety precautions. I can't trust if you will tell the police or not. I know that you know no good will come of it. I just need to get a handle on this situation and then I will decide what to do with you. You understand."
Miranda nodded slowly. "I need you to go the phone booth right there. Call 911, tell them about last night. Tell them about a drug deal you witnessed and then makeup something about the color of a car. Do not tell them about me. Do I make myself clear."
Miranda nodded feeling helpless.
She walked over to the phone with one of his men right behind her. She was suddenly so nervous and upset. She just wanted to go home.
"You keep holding your breath out of nervousness, you keep that up you will be unconscious. You don't need to be nervous, you need be frantic. You don't want them to know you're lying."
"Maybe I want to give them a hint." Miranda replied rolling her eyes.
"I wouldn't want to do that if I were you. Boss man doesn't make empty threats. He didn't have to keep you. He could have just killed you for being a witness."
"Oh boy lucky me." Miranda jeered causing David to chuckle.
Miranda picked up the pay phone after he put money in there and she dialed 911.
"911. What's your emergency?" The operator asked.
Miranda stayed silent breathing into the phone heavily.
"I'm- I'm doctor Miranda Bailey. Last night at Seattle Grace hospital in the parking lot. I witnessed a drug deal and it went bad, two people are murdered and I was kidnapped." She whispered.
"Where are you now?"
"I'm at a pay phone. He went to get some more gas. He is a tall white man, he looked German." She elaborated pausing to cry some.
"He forced me to drive him in my own car." Miranda added her voice breaking up.
"We can pinpoint the pay phone.”
"Oh my god he's coming back. I heard him say something about driving to California." Miranda shrieked hanging up.
"Good job now come on "
Miranda watched as another man doused her car in gasoline.
"Hey hey, what are you doing?"
"It's evidence… boss's blood is all in this car." The man spoke as he lit the match and it instantly went up into flames.
"Get in the car." David ushered and Miranda climbed into the truck. Her tears were now pooling.
"Why are you crying?" Ben asked.
"I want to go home and to work and you just ruined my car." She cried.
"I will get you a new car Miranda." Ben assured her.
"Where are you taking me?" She asked.
"To my house." He answered and she used the sleeve to her shirt and wiped her eyes.
