Ever since the kiss it plagued both Ben and Miranda's mind.

Miranda was longing for his kiss and touch. She wanted to feel his fingers run through her hair and tug roughly. She wanted him to caress her body and bite her ear.

It was weird the way she felt these things for this man. She didn't even know him really. They never had real conversations even if they were arguing. It was like he was hot and cold and right now he was cold. Ever since the kiss he avoided her and it irritated her.

"Good morning miss, breakfast has been prepared and after you are finished and presentable, sir would like to see you. He is out back on the patio."

"Okay thank you."

"Sit." Ben ordered not even sparing her a glance as she walked out. Miranda clicked her teeth. This man mood changed constantly. She still couldn't believe that she was back to living like this.

"I am going out to a couple of my hotels and other businesses to handle some things. I have assigned Kyle to be your personal guard. If you wish to do anything, he will phone me, since it's your day off. "

"I am not a child and can take care of myself just fine."

Ben scuffed and shook his head before taking a sip of his coffee. "For God sakes just do as you are told Miranda."

"Well can I go to the hotels with you?" She questioned, not wanting to be in the house all day.

"No." He voiced giving her a stern expression. He really was going to the warehouse to handle other things that she didn't need to know about.

Miranda's face fell and it got Ben every time. "There is a Gala for the Anniversary of the first hotel my father opened downtown in two days. You can accompany me there if you would like."

"Fine." She relented.

Two days passed and Miranda was in her room lotioning down. Her hair was pulled half up half down and she sat in her vanity mirror doing her makeup.

After she was finished she slid on her black velvet off the shoulder split thigh dress and she looked up at the knock at her door.

"Hey you ready?" Ben asked and Miranda took in his 3 piece black suit. He was so handsome and she swore she loved the bow ties better than the regular ties on him.

"Just about, can you zip me up." She asked softly.

"Of course." Ben responded and he walked over and looked down at her bare back.

Ben bit his lip and his eyes traveled to where the zipper started just above her ass. He could see the forest green lace and he wanted to groan.

Ever since that kiss, no scratch that, since the next day after he met her, he couldn't get her out of his head. He had to constantly tell himself that she was off limits.

He avoided her after their kiss because it was as if he had kissed a siren. He couldn't get her moan of his head nor her taste.

Ben finally grabbed the zipper and pulled it up. "Thank you." She whispered and he nodded and watched as she walked into her closet, coming out with a pair of silver heels.

"Here let me help you." Ben said walking over to her and taking the heels.

Miranda sat on the edge of her bed and Ben took one of the heels and un did the straps. He grabbed her foot lightly and stared at her cherry red toes before sliding her shoe on and strapping it in.

Taking her next foot he let his finger tips trace up and down her leg, getting distracted before he slid her shoe on the other foot and strapped it up.

He stood and held his hand out for her.

"Thanks Benjamin."

"Why do you call me that?"

"Your name?" She scuffed.

"My full name." He replied.

"Because I like Benjamin. What you want me to call you Sir or Boss?" She laughed.

"No, I was just wondering. Most people that I know, that do not work for me just call me Ben."

"I use both." She countered.

"I know that but mainly Benjamin. It's nothing wrong with you calling me that. I was just curious." Ben told her as he walked with her to the elevator.

Miranda and Ben walked outside together and David opened the door to the limo.

"You look very very very beautiful." Ben told her as she sat across from him inside of the limo.

"Thank you." Miranda smiled. "You look handsome." She added.

"Thank you." He responded.

When they arrived at the hotel, David opened the door for them and Ben helped Miranda out.

Miranda looked at all the paparazzi and she put on her best smile as she walked inside with Ben.

"This is a beautiful hotel." Miranda admired.

"Thanks I added a few upgrades but I still wanted to keep the authenticity of its original design." Ben responded. He put his hand on her back and walked with her inside of the huge ball room.

"Warren...Warren...Warren." so many people called his name.

He ushered Miranda along with him as he greeted all these people and introduced him.

"Hi I'm Angela. I am married to Nicholas Williams."

"Hi, I am Doctor Miranda Bailey and it's very nice to meet you. I have read so much over the years about your husband's architecture company." Miranda voiced and the woman nodded.

The two begin to converse back and forth for a long while. Miranda actually like Angela. She was very down to earth considering her status of wealth.

Miranda looked around for Ben and noticed he was gone.

Ben came out of the bathroom when he felt a hand wrap around his arm lightly.

"Hey baby."

"Jess." Ben voiced.

"The one and only...I miss you." She told him and Ben remained silent.

"You want to get out of here and have a good time." She asked.

Ben chuckled and looked at the woman in front of him. He actually could use another woman to get Miranda off of his mind.

"Come on baby think about all the fun we use to have."

Miranda found Ben and he was leaning against the wall talking to some woman.

She watched them for a while and he was laughing and actually smiling. Something she didn't even know he did because it would kill him to smile or be nice at home.

She looked the woman up and down again. She had on a tight body con dress that was mid thigh showing off her long legs.

The woman was giggling and flirting with him. Grabbing at his face and arms. She slid her hand up and down his chest.

Miranda felt her anger rising and she knew that she shouldn't care because they weren't together but that didn't negate the fact that they kissed.

He kissed her, she didn't kiss him. Why do that and then next you are with another girl. Miranda had never had this sense of jealousy course through her in her entire life.

It just pissed her off that he was smiling....like really smiling. How could he be so affectation with another woman and she was sitting there right in his home everyday.

It was confusing because on one hand Miranda didn't want his affection because he shouldn't mean nothing to her and she didn't want to get caught up in the mess he had going on, but on the other it was all she thought about.

Before Miranda could stop herself she walked over to them. The taller woman looked her way and Miranda wanted to pull them apart but instead she pushed through the woman's wondering hands and pulled his face down to meet her lips into a kiss. Ben was hesitant at first not knowing who she was before her wonderful intoxicating scent filled his nose.

Ben kissed her back quickly and Miranda pulled on the collar of his shirt kissing him.

When they pulled apart the woman was still standing there looking furious. "I'm Dr. Miranda Bailey and you are?"

"Jessica." She huffed irritated.

"Well I don't know what you and Ben had going on, but I can tell you that it's over." Miranda returned pulling Ben's hand and walking away with him.

Ben groaned he was trying to forget about Miranda and she went on an messed it up.

Miranda was silent the rest of the night at the Gala. In the limo she looked out the window silently.

"Miranda

"Not now Benjamin."

"What did I do?"  he asked.

"You kissed me is what you did." She snapped turning to look at him.
"And then you are cold as hell 10 seconds later...is that your girlfriend?" She asked.

"If she was, she’s not now thanks to you...No she wasn't my girlfriend. She was a good time a long time ago but I stopped paying her attention."

"Seems like all your attention was on her." Miranda retorted.

"I can't be with you Miranda." Ben admitted and Miranda stared at him.

"I didn't ask you to be with me." She replied.

"I don't want you to get caught up in my mess."

Miranda rolled her eyes. "Good...don't ever kiss me again in your life." She huffed turning towards the window again.
