Miranda kept her eyes trained on Ben as they drove.
"Hey where's David?" Miranda asked noticing he wasn't with them.
"He Uh. He didn't...
"Oh my god no." Miranda gasped as more tears fell. All of these men were apart of their family. She hated that he was gone and viciously. He had a family. He did not deserve this.
When they got home, Kyle and James helped Ben inside and up to his room.
Miranda went and got the first aid kit that she prepared a while ago.
She cleaned and wrapped up Ben's wrists. She did the same to his feet before she moved to the bruises on his stomach.
Miranda rubbed vitamin k cream on his bruises. She cleaned the blood off his face and put an ice pack by his cheek. She couldn't help but to cry every time she looked at him.
"If I wouldn't have never left. This wouldn't have happened, David wouldn't be dead. This is all my fault." Miranda cried hard.
Ben set up despite his pain and grabbed her arms.
"Miranda this is not your fault. They hit my car while I was driving and another swerved in front of me, trapping me. That could have happened if you were with me or not. This is not your fault." Ben voiced.
Miranda stayed silent looking at him as her tears continuously fell.
"I missed you every single day that we were apart." Miranda said rubbing his face.
"I missed you too so much." Ben replied.
"I'm going to take a shower and then I will be back. Is there anything that I can get you? Maybe I can make you something, I know Author is gone for tonight." Miranda started.
"Chicken noodle soup would be great."
"I'll just order it and you need something for your electrolytes." Miranda replied walking to get his laptop since she lost her phone.
She ordered Ben his food and things that wouldn't be delivered until tomorrow morning, before she hopped in the shower.
Miranda thought about everything that transpired tonight and her heart was still racing from being amped up.
She killed so many people tonight. She now fully understood that love could make people ruthless in a way hatred never could.
Ben laid back in bed and stared up at the ceiling, every time he closed his eyes he could vividly see Miranda cutting Thomas' throat. Miranda was an angel in the purest form. But tonight Ben realized that his angel wasn't suppose to show him heaven. His angel was suppose to walk with him through his hell.
After her shower, she wrapped a towel around her waist and went to answer Ben's bedroom door. She saw their food and she grabbed it before closing the door back. Miranda slid on one of Ben's shirts and walked over to the bed. She climbed behind Ben's back and helped him sit up. Miranda opened the food and began to feed him and herself as he laid onto her body.
"Miranda we can't start back a relationship, I have to let you go."
"What?" She asked putting the spoon down.
"The reason that we separated is still present. Another situation will happen and it will leave you feeling the same way. I can't take it if you stay for another couple of months and then leave again." Ben said turning his head to look at her.
"I'm not going anywhere this time Ben. It's you and me until the wheels fall off. I'm ride or die I promise." Miranda told him as her eyes watered.
"I’m going to continue to straighten everything out and get all this cleaned up when I get well. We can't continued to live this life still. I love you and I want you forever. I want a family with you. I want us to be able to raise kids together and they live in peace."
Miranda gave him a bright smile and kissed his lips.
"Your tattoos." Miranda commented touching his arms.
"Good vs Evil." Ben told her softly.
Miranda admired every picture and word tattooed on his skin. Miranda gasped at her name at the top of his right arm. There was a crown over top of it and roses on the bottom with an infinity sign. She continued looking and noticed that Miranda was tattooed a lot on the arm. They were in the clouds and small places "Oh Ben. I love this." Miranda whispered and she leaned down and kissed it.
"I'm going to put together David funeral or try to help his wife. She might be too distraught to plan."
Ben nodded sighing heavily. "I can't believe he is gone. Me and my guys have been through so much together. Kyle was the last one added recently but David and James has been there since the beginning of my reign." Ben voiced sadly.
"I'm so sorry baby." Miranda apologized rubbing his arms.
It was raining the day of the funeral. Miranda stood and read a heart felt poem and she did her best to keep her tears at bay. She constantly looked over at David's wife. The woman's world was torn apart and upside down. The woman's tears were uncontrollable. Half of her heart was gone and it made Miranda really stop and think about her life with Ben.
She told herself that she was going to be grateful for all the time she has with him and everyday would be considered a blessing.
The funeral was small, David had a small family and his mother and father already passed years ago. As the host, her and Ben arrived hours early to make sure everything was good and the funeral home had everything taken care of.
Ben laid his head on Miranda's shoulder as she held the umbrella over them as the stood and watched the casket began to lower after they all put their yellow roses on it. The preacher was saying the 23 psalm and concluded with prayer. Miranda rubbed Ben's back soothingly as they walked in the grass back to their car.
Two months passed and Miranda and Ben were back on track. She officially gave up her apartment and life at home with Ben was great. It took a while for him to fully heal but since then, everything calmed down since Thomas' death. Ben set up many meetings with other mafias to get things back in order.
Tonight though Ben was exceptionally nervous. He took Miranda out to the finest restaurant in Seattle and they had a good time laughing and talking.
The whole ride back to the house his hand fiddled with the ring box. He was excited yet super nervous. She had the choice to say no and that scared him.
He chuckled to himself, years ago he wouldn't have even dreamed that he would be here. Yet here he was desperately in love and wanting to put this 50 thousand dollar ring on her finger.
"I have a surprise for you." Ben voiced coming up behind her and covering her eyes after the entered the house.
"What is the surprise?" Miranda questioned.
"It wouldn't be a surprise if I told you, now would it?" Ben chuckled still covering her eyes.
He lead them to the patio and opened the door. "Okay close your eyes." Ben instructed and he took his hand off of her face.
Miranda kept her eyes close and Ben walked to stand on the steps where the flower arch and lights were.
"1,2,3." Ben counted as he got down on one knee and took the ring out.
"Open." Ben chimed.
Miranda opened her eyes and she gasped looking before her. The letters spelling out will you marry me were shinning bright and standing 3 ft. tall. Her eyes watered at the pink and white flower arch and candles around.
"Miranda Bailey. I love you so much. You mean everything to me and I don't want to let you go ever. You came into my life and made it better. You gave me sunshine on a cloudy day. You quickly became my whole world and if anyone was to ask me if I would choose my life or yours I would say mine because you are my life and I know that this has been a hell of a ride and I may not deserve you because you are too good but I want you and I want you to want me and be with me forever. So will you marry me please. " Ben asked and Miranda walked closer to him with her hand over her mouth.
"Oh my god yes I'll marry you." Miranda marveled excitedly as she extended her hand out so he could slide the ring onto her finger.
Miranda cheesed and tears were falling as Ben stood and he pulled her into a hug kissing her lips.
The violinist that he hired all began to play and Miranda gasped once again looking at them.
"Ben this ring is huge, I won't ever be able to wear it with gloves and it's weighing my hand down...I know it cost a fortune."
"It did and worth every penny. You are worth a million."
"Don't tell me you spent a million dollars."
"I didn't." Ben chuckled.
"Don't worry about it." Ben added rubbing her back before kissing her lips again.
Ben turned around towards the house and saw his men and brother standing with champagne and noise makers. "She said yes." Ben yelled and everyone cheered and clapped sounding their noise makers before Kyle popped open the champagne.
"I love you." Miranda told him dreamily wiping her eyes yet again.
"I love you too." Ben replied quickly kissing her lips.
"Okay okay. Ima need for you all to leave. Me and my fiancé have some things to handle." Miranda told everyone and Ben nodded as she pulled him by his tie.
