The skin of my collarbone and a portion of my neck are bright red from the continues pattern my fingers have taken upon them.
A nervous habit, is what I've learned it's called. The torture I endure by my own hand and onto my own body helps in a dark twisted way.
I hadn't realized I was doing it until I went into the bathroom to pee, and the mirror caught my attention while washing my hands.
Little dots of blood still continue to bleed, and when I rid of the blood by wiping my fingers across the dots a sting jumps out instead.
A knock at my door makes my fingers flinch away from my collarbone, and instantly snap to open the bathroom door as if I've been caught doing something bad. I haven't, have I?
Adonis' head peaks in through my door, and it's almost as if he's surprised to see me. I wouldn't expect anything less as I've been hiding away in my secret room for the past week.
I find comfort in the fact Puddles now has a friend to keep accompanied while I'm away from her. My heart doesn't feel as heavy when I leave the room, Socks snuggled by Puddles instead of me.
Adonis smiles, before checking over to me as if to see if I got hurt. His eyes stop at my collarbone, and against my will my hand goes to touch it.
I jump when I do, the sting having intensified from me messing with it.
Is he mad?
Why did I do that?
He's going to hurt me.
But then another voice starts talking as Adonis starts moving.
He would never hurt you, he isn't mommy.
In a hurry, Adonis rushes over to me as if his favorite thing in the world is about to fall off a cliff.
I think his rush is unnecessary, as I'm right here and not going anywhere. But that's only the beginning.
Adonis makes quick work of picking me up and opening the bathroom door with his shoulder, before placing me down on the counter.
The cool surge of the countertop elicits a shiver from me, and only when Adonis pulled my hand away from my neck did I realize I had begun scratching and molding again.
