And I'm back with a new arc. Yay. A pretty damn short chapter tho. Boo. Anyways, stay home, stay safe.
Kenji watched as his father was arrested by S.W.A.T. He didn't want this to happen. But he didn't have a choice. Well, he did have a choice. Did he choose family, or does he choose to be responsible? (You're probably confused as to what the hell is happening. And that's to be expected. The author is doing that annoying AF thing where you see the ending at the beginning of the story. And then, the rest of the way, you're thinking, "I already know how this ends, so why TF am I sitting here reading/watching the rest of it?" I don't know random kid in 8th grade summer school. Why are you reading this during class when you're supposed to be learning algebra and how to divide the mass of the sun with the Pythagoras theorem? Actually, don't answer that. Anyways, in order for ANY of the first six sentences to make sense, we need to wind the clocks back.)
Two weeks ago (Oh, how cliché. Putting how far back in time we need to go. Why didn't you just mention that in my above opening monologue Mr. Auther?)
Kenji had finished packing his stuff. His father said he needed to bring a bunch of suits. Kenji never liked to wear suits, but if it meant that his father was happy with him, he would suck it up. said that his father was finally taking him to see his company. The teen should have asked what it was, but he finally gained his father's trust. He didn't want to screw up their relationship now. And last week, they finally left. Kenji thought of EVERYTHING it could have been. He wasn't expecting the plane to land in what looked like the same airstrip on that other trippy Dino Island. He figured it was just a coincidence. All airports look the same anyways.
The drive into the jungle was unsettling. It was very Deja Vu with the jungle on Nublar and on the Mantah Corp. Island. Again, Kenji figured it was probably just nerves. The Limo stopped, and Kon senior motioned for his son to step out with him. The Asian teen was shocked to see a large building. Like, FREAKISHLY big. "It's impressive, isn't it?" Daniel Kon asked. Kenji nodded in shock. The older man lead the way for his son. As they entered the building, Kenji and his father came into white hallways. And the ceiling was VERY high. His father looked back at his son to see him looking all around the halls. "You okay their Kenji?"
"Yeah." he answered. "Just seems like a really easy way to get lost in here."
Daniel chuckled. "Well, I don't expect you to memorize all of the floor plan yet. And don't worry, I'll help you with it." the father promised. The two walked for a long time. Finally coming to the end of the hall, Kenji notices his father stand in front of a green panel. The older man used his finger to open the door, and it slid sideways. Kenji and his father walked through it for another few minutes.
Kenji was seeing all sorts of similarities that just couldn't be avoided. The sliding doors, the green control panel, the doors themselves? Maybe it was all just one big coincidence. Because they passed into another part of jungle. And the other island had snow, woods, and desert. After more walking, Daniel lead Kenji to another building. It was much smaller than the building they went in. But Kenji got to thinking. What's the point of the bigger building if you've got a smaller building? The only reason you would need a bigger building is if you were hiding something. But what?
As they walked into the building, Kenji kept looking around. The teen kept getting this uneasy feeling. Daniel, who was still walking ahead of him, said, "This building has some unorthodox security. I will need to scan you really quick so I can upload it to the data base." Kenji nodded, and stepped forward. His father scanned his son, and after another few minutes, said, "Perfect. You're in the system. Now, our security bots won't mistake you for an intruder."
"Security bots?" Kenji asked.
"Yes." Daniel explained to his son. "They roam the island, making sure that the environment is safe from any potential threats. There are no unauthorized lifeforms on this island." Kenji was surprised at what he heard. The B.R.A.D voice came into his head.
