I asked Aunt Lily to meet me on the lawn in front of the school, I had seen a few kids hanging out here during their lunch break so I assumed there was nothing wrong with it. I even brought a blanket so that we could sit on it and eat our lunch without the grass bothering our skin.

After a few minutes of waiting, I watched as my Aunt walked down the stairs that led to the entrance of the school. She had an oddly surprised look on her face, "What is all this?"

"A picnic of course." A tight-lipped smile formed on my face as she made her way toward me and sat down. We used to do these kinds of things all the time before I came to Montre, especially when we relocated to a new town - they always had the best picnic spots.

I pulled out a few packets of chips and sweets that I got from the vending machine inside the cafeteria. I also snagged two big styrofoam cups that were filled with fries. Aunty Lily loved fries.

"Here you go." I handed her the styrofoam cup to which she responded with a curious grin.

"You got two?" She raised a brow, "I thought each student only got one of each."

I shrugged, "Julien was kind enough to sponsor his cup, plus he was more into the pot pie anyway." A mischievous smile made its way onto my face as I took a bite of my chip.

"Thank you, Julien!" She chuckled, taking the provided fork and stabbing it into her fries, "I haven't had this in forever." Lily was practically watering at the mouth until she began eating.

A small chuckle left my lips, "Stick with me and I can get you the good stuff." I winked at her.

Everything suddenly became quiet as we both just sat there eating our food. Once she was done she set her cup to the side and gave me a knowing look. That was the look that caused me to stop eating - even though I only had 4 fries left - and pay attention to what she had to say.

"I spoke to Mrs. Fabrey," Aunt Lily let out a heavy breath, "You wanna start training?"

At least she was the one that brought it up. I was planning on speaking to her about it all anyway so we might as well just dive right in.

I nodded, "Yeah, that's one of the things I wanted to talk to you about," My gaze shifted from her to the picnic blanket, "Hence the whole last minute will you have lunch with me thing."

She sighed, "You really wanna do it?"

"It's my fight too," I shrugged, "I can't just stand on the sidelines while other people are willing to risk their lives just to keep me safe."

She kissed her teeth, "Well I can't say that I'm surprised," She said, "I knew that you would find a way to help if you could."

Aunt Lily knew me well and judging by the look on her face she didn't seem happy with my choice but she understood it. She didn't see me as someone who had lost their mind because she understood me. She knew me better than I knew myself and it was during times like that that I was grateful for that.

"I know you aren't happy about it-"

"No, I'm not."

I sighed, "But you understand."

A small smile tugged at the corners of her lips, "Babydoll you are like a dog with a bone, once you have your sights set on something there is no one that can stop you."

I couldn't help but smile, "I'll be okay, I promise." this time I didn't say it as a way to put her mind at ease, I wanted to be okay not only for her but for the world. I was going to be the one to bring light back to the world and save it from darkness, and I can't do that if I'm dead.
